  • Here's my question: how could a real communist ever justify the invasion, occupation and destruction of another people? In other words, no communist would ever believe in imperialism, yes?

  • simple solution, wet the soil, the worms will surface, I gurantee it. problem solved! DUH!

  • FAKESPOTTER, DONT LISTEN TO WHOEVER HATED ON YOU........F """"" THE HATERS!!!!!

  • What type of Buddhism is this? Is it a different type in the sense Christianity is split into sects? Are devout Buddhists vegetarian? Thanks to anyone who answers.

  • @Noodles37UK

Tibetan Buddhism differs from, say, Indian Buddhism and the like. You could say it's an alpha in Chinese Buddhist culture, imbedded in ancient Tibetan mythologies and viewed today as part of the Tibetan identity. What the Vatican is to Roman Catholics, Tibetan Buddhism is to the majority of Chinese Buddhists (including some of those who are not Tibetans.) There are non-Tibetan pilgrims who travel thousands of miles to Lhasa every year; the culture there is magnificent! :-)

  • @Seddius I think I prefer these guys to us westerners really lol!

  • @Noodles37UK there are four schools of tibetan buddhism-HH Dalai Lama is head of the gelug school. "devout" buddhists do endeavor to be vegetarian-though it takes a lot of practice for many!

  • yes that is Taiwan flag. Did they make a mistake I wonder ...

  • @bomesx - Its the Kuomintang (Nationalist) flag. The Kuomintang relocated to Taiwan after China was replaced by Communists. You can see Victor Wong's character and other people from that Amban office leave before the arrival of the Chicom soldiers.

  • those food looks good, i bet they taste good too...

  • the flag is wrong,(3:37) that's the flag of the Nationalist party of China who were pushed to Taiwan during the civil war that lead to the creation of the PRC. And the Chiness uniforms are also incorrect, I believe those are actually Japanese uniforms

  • @sahajad you are the ignorant one for calling us "easterners" when we are of thousands of different ethnicities and speak thousands of different languages to be categorised as "easterners"

  • no those are the kmt officals that got stranded in tibet after the CCP took over the mainland.

Anyways who cares this is a dumb movie.

  • It is not a dumb movie u ignorant shit

  • @61111 the flag is Taiwan's flag, and just as you said, the government now is in Taiwan. So, it is right, because they "pulled down" the flag, which means that they surrendered to Communist Party of China, and left Tibet.

  • Still China is trying to dominate the people of tibet just as westerners have always sought to dominate people all over the globe and within their borders as well. Let us look in the mirror and grant true liberty to our own residents b4 we try to reinvent history. The tibetan had a way of life they were satisfied with b4 the outside Chinese interference. That is ideal regardless of the accuracy of the costumes or the ways of daily living.

  • who designed the costums? the chinese doesn't wear those cloth, and the queue were cut offed since 1911!!!

  • XD My friend and I were cracking up at the car scene. SO CUUTE!

  • lol at the beginning. He's actually a pretty good actor., it's so cute when Brad Pitt cracks up at 11 seconds and he's trying to be all respectful. I know he has caps, but he has such a great smile and white teeth. 3:18 What a fine figure of a man!

  • good lier

  • this movie was crap; from it you can only see the westerners' shangrila illusion of Tibet; nothing about the hardship and adversity of average Tibetans in those days. Plus, the scenes about the Tibetan civilians in this moves were vague and short since those people (the actors) are not Tibetans but aboriginal Americans. The Tibetan tranquility was completed destroyed by the Westerners' invasion.

  • True, any outside invasion is not warranted.

  • It's so cute how "His Holiness" wants to be a "normal" kid so he sneaks around to learn everything he shouldn't be learning...

  • @indiacwash Its the nature of a Buddhist teacher to learn as well. Since he believes himself to be(I personally believe his is) the bodhisattva of compassion he would need to know about the world he has compassion for outside of the insular society of Tibet. He is `childlike` and fun loving but I think that is a sign of the wisdom and enlightenment of spiritual adulthood.

  • he is sooo beautiful

  • that's how I feel about Angelina Jolie. I never really gave him a chance because he was so hyped up until he got with her. I was like, "I have to make an exception and at least tolerate the guy Jolie chose to be with." and now I have a huge crush on him. He really is *so* beautiful, like you say.
