protectrons gaze is from the mechanist in the quest superhuman gambit, when u kill the antagonizer take her costume to mechanist to prove shes dead and he rewards u with protectrons gaze, hope this helped. :)

I would sell the laser pistol, no problem. I don't even bother with pistols (except scoped 44) because they are weak, and energy weapons sell for a pretty penny. For a good laser weapon if you really want to put that e cell ammo to use, I use the tribeam laser. You can get this by killing a super mutant overlord. Almost as good as the alien blaster, and doesn't use excessive ammo like the laser gatlin gun.
