Why was the based closed in such a manner. It looks trashed. Doesn't the US Govt clean the place up and board it up before closing a base. The place has chairs and junk thrown all over the place. I think its a disgrace it was left in such a mess and not closed properly. I was stationed at Galena in Central Alaska that was also closed. I imagine it was left like this also.
I was the chow hall on Bering hill US Marines and Sailors ate here. We had a buddy that worked there and he would get us bacon and we would feed the eagles out back
When you goto 2:51 it has a record dated 1993. I c'n't beleave it looks like it's been sitting

I lived just up the hill about 50 yards back in 1985. All I can say now is wow. Ate many meals in that chow hall.
