  • clermiston weasel cant sing without a kick in the balls

  • My God that redhead singer is just too sexy. i wonder where she is today.

  • Excellent and I love the wee Bill Nelson bit at the start

  • I loved this song all those years ago, and have to say it's still fantastic, never had a bloody clue what the lyrics were though.

In response to Diskochimp (not that he/she is likely to see this a year later but what the hell!) the song at the beginning is "Do You Dream In Colour" by Bill Nelson.

  • @Swumhole I always thought the lyrics were kind of stream-of-consciousness, and didn't really have any concrete meaning.

Davy does sound rather frustrated though, as evidenced by lines like "This band is my survival/I'm tired of this song!" - I suspect this was recorded not too long before they imploded completely. :)

  • At least one of the backing singers is called Shona

  • my dads the base player of this band :)

  • @mosesgandi Cool :) This song is very good, Fire Engines are a brill band

  • @mosesgandi Can you ask him for the guitar tabs for this song?

  • Excellent! Was a huge fan of this band, and also Win. Candyskin out there anyone?

  • Recall rushing back from school to catch this on TV. Was on a show called "Riverside". Top choon. Still have the 12"!

  • yes! thanks again for posting. this was on youtube awhile back but then disappeared mysteriously. so glad it's back. Fire Engines could totally get away with being shirtless and covered in baby oil!

  • They had great mics back then not like the junk these days.

  • The funkiest thing that ever came out of Edinburgh. Wash day tomorrow though?

  • absolutely brilliant, remember seeing this first time around on tv,loved it ever since!!

  • I love Fire Engines, & this song generally, so ta for posting. Got to ask though, what's the mystery song at the very beginning of this clip 'cos it's doing my head in...?!

  • Glad you like it. It was on an old VHS tape.
