I loved this song all those years ago, and have to say it's still fantastic, never had a bloody clue what the lyrics were though.
In response to Diskochimp (not that he/she is likely to see this a year later but what the hell!) the song at the beginning is "Do You Dream In Colour" by Bill Nelson.
@Swumhole I always thought the lyrics were kind of stream-of-consciousness, and didn't really have any concrete meaning.
Davy does sound rather frustrated though, as evidenced by lines like "This band is my survival/I'm tired of this song!" - I suspect this was recorded not too long before they imploded completely. :)
