  • It is very clear that only Shakeel Badayuni could write these lyrics, That only Naushad Ali could compose such a music and only Mohammed Rafi could sing this song. All three were par excellence Shakeel Badatuni's lyrics have been superb all through. He and Naushad Sahib have been making the best combination in the Indian film industry. Naushad Sahib, in one of his interviews, said that blood came out of Mohammedd.Rafi's throat after singing this song and he could not sing for fifteen days.

  • I agree. This must be the "creme de la creme". Many great singers have tried to sing this song. No one has come even 50% close to this. Only Rafi himself managed to sing it in the modern style in digital sound. If this not enough, we can refer to the rest of the songs of Baiju Bhowra. They are models and remain the foundation of Indian music. No other singers are missed as Rafi the guru is. The singer of all singers. The king of kings. The creme de la creme.

  • The one & only SIRMOLE ( Supreme ) song of all the songs sang till today by any Singer , in other words this is the Mother of all songs ,,, Really hats off to The Mohd Rafi , can't say more then this ..God bless him ....

  • Beti

    Merry Christmas

May the blessings of Jesus shower on you and the family

RAFIJI- BELATED HAPPY BIRTH ANNIVERSARY 24-12-1924

    NAUSHADJI- HAPPY BIRTH ANNIVERSARY 25-12-1919

RAFIJI & NAUSHADJI YOU ARE IMMORTAL IN OUR HEARTS

I read this song almost took Rafiji voice for ever. Because after recording he got blood oozing out from his mouth as he was practicing this song day and night for 25 days. Only after a month or so he was able to sing again.

    thanks and blessings

    uncle

  • @mahesh1946 - Thank you my dear Uncle Uma for the very interesting comment about the Great Rafi Sahab.

I too wish you, Aunt and the family a merry Christmas and a very happy/prosperous new year, 2012.

    May God bless you all.

  • Mohammed rafi was born to sing that song and naushad was born to write that song because god shows that we are all the same ....which ever way we look at things...in life

  • I heard this song more than 1000 times, and will listen again and again! Its heavenly feels, and Rafi sing so nicely and deeply that I never heard from any other singer. Salute Rafi Sahab.

  • rafi saheb ..naushad saheb ...2 great legend,.........and lord shiva the celestial genius ..what else do u need immortal song

  • Marvelous

  • rafi sahab 's voice and pitch , i am sure no one on this earth could, will ever match, closest in classical was manna dey ji but no one can match rafi

  • plz call mohd rafi caz he wanted to be called upon with this name...and he earned it ,, thanks

  • best song of rafi saab best compose bet sound best music

  • one of the evergreen songs of hindi, bharath bhushan and rafi -what a wonderful combination were they..

  • naushad sahab made another song for this place in the movie & that was already recorded.. everybody was so happy with the song but naushad sahab said he was not satisfied & few days later he came up with o duniya ke rakhwale and now we all know what magic he & Rafi sahab created in this one? as per so many critics this the sartaj song of the film industry..

  • @mohdrafihabib - If I may add a little my dear friend, Late Mr. Naushad was only 32 years and Late Mr. Rafi was only 27 years of age, when this masterpiece was created in 1951/1952.

    2 LEGENDS of OUR time!

    Thank you.

  • @mohdrafihabib I agree with your comments, this is the Sirmole song of the Century.I don't think any other singer will ever sing such a song in life except Mohd Rafi. May GOD bless you........The GREAT Mohd Rafi....

  • @mohdrafihabib asalma walekum i am a muslim but when you feel love then think about this song this is a very nice song in the world up coming future no bady are sing like this song only one person Janab Mohammed Rafi only singing this song for this matter no bady think about this matter enoffff

  • @abdulrauf20091 sorry but i did not get what r u trying to say.

  • He is immortal....................noooooooooooooo match ever on this earth.

  • right said friend

  • On a separate note Rafi saab used to sing for actors who are just coming up for little or no remuneration just to encourage them. He was so unselfish and supporting others. We don't see many people like him.

  • This is one of the best songs Rafi saab had sung. Such a heavenly voice. Nobody to replace him. He has such a melodious voice. When we ask all time greatest singers they say their idol is Rafi saab. We can imagine what Rafi saab has done to the music industry. He is a legend and there will be no Rafi saab before or after. Go listen at 2.35 and see what he has done. Amazing.

  • this song is beyond of praise....no word to praise...bcz I cann't arrange word to praise.....................greatest composition of Sir Naushad... Despite of Muslim Mr. Nashad and Sir Rafi gave us great Bhajan. really really great..................

  • mandir ghirta phir ban jata ..dil ko kaun sambhalay

  • wow what a co mposition

  • Great job Yuan.

You know this film is also a good example of Communal Harmony in India. It has some of the best bhajans of Hindus created by three Muslims.

  • @prajjwalit - Thank you my dear friend.

Though they are kind of sensitive matters, I always used to think of this positive way of "Communal Harmony".

What I came to know [from some of the comments like yours] is that Late Mr. Mohammed Rafi has sung hundreds of Bhajans.

What a beautiful things he and other artists did.

Very nice to think of these things, truly.

    Thank you.

  • Mind blowing....wow!!!! So nice!!!!

  • @divendrakumara - You are most welcome, my friend.

  • awesome, immortal, don't have words to describe the feelings.thank you for posting the song

  • @hootbhaji - You are most welcome, my dear friend.

  • Immortal piece of work by Shakeel, Naushad & Rafi ! Such a soul-stirring song, rendered with utmost devotion by the incomparable Rafi, that I get goose pimples whenever I listen to this amazing number. Thanks yuan for this timeless classic, which tops my fav list. You made my day !

  • @1955shashi - You are most welcome my dear friend and thank you for the nice comment [as usual!] and also thank you for your kind words.

    Take care.

  • This was the song that gave Mohammed rafi name and fame. He became number one and Talat mehmood went down in history. thank you

  • @MrVicshuklanyc -You are most welcome, my friend.

  • @MrVicshuklanyc Rafi always had an upper hand while Talat never went down the history. He is the best Gazal singer this sub continent has seen so far. Indeed this song is one of his greatest.

  • @chandrashekharjain When I was young boy I listned Talat Mehmood standing next to him. I know he was a great singer but after this song Mohammad Rafi went up and Talat Mehmood went down.Even the films were changing they were copying western style where Talat,s voive do not fit.thank you

  • @MrVicshuklanyc Rafi age of 13 sing at a concert featuring K. L. Saigal. In 1941, Rafi made his debut as a playback singer in 1941 film Gul Baloch and the Bombay film, Gaon Ki Gauri, the following year.

Talat 16, in 1939 began singing the Ghazal. on All India Radio, Lucknow. HMV offered Talat his first disc in 1941

Both were same age, but Talat had established himself a bit earlier, so may be considered as senior, but not better.

It is unfair to compare greatness of these great singers

  • @chandrashekharjain I never compared either of them. What I said after this song Mohammad Rafi wasdemanded much more whereas Talat Mehmood went down Though I know both of them.Thank you

  • @chandrashekharjain You have much more knowledge ( what you read in the magazines or books) I acknowledge it.

I know them personally.so its my personal view.if you like it or do not like its upto you its o. k. if you feel otherwise leave it. thank you

  • A great upload Yuan... this classic by Rafi saab will stay ever green forever...

  • @jabasong - You are most welcome, my dear friend Jayanthi.

    May God bless you too.

  • Rafi saab is one of the greatest singers. I think this could be one of his best songs. In the album "Aathvaan Sur" Naushhad Ji commented that after singing this song Rafi saab could not sing for three days. He did this song two notes higher than expected. Jeethe raho Rafi saab we miss you. Thanks Yuan for bringing the sweet memories.

  • Thank you my friend for your nice comment. Also it is worthy to note that Rafi Saab was only 26 or 27 years old at the time of recording this gem!
