I found what you were talking about involving where to shade around 2:20 was a tad confusing. The way I figure it is if y is > or >=, you shade up. If y is < or <=, you shade down.

Note that at around 1:10 he chose to change the second equation to < (rather than < or =)in order to illustrate the dotted line idea. It would NOT be okay for YOU to change that sign if you were working the problem as originally presented in the first minute of the video.

Patrick also chooses to shade "accept" he colors the points that are true. Many people choose to shade "reject" (color the points that are false.
