But can someone explain why Maiden decided to keep Janick Gers as a third guitarist? In my opinion, Dave and Adrian are perfect being the guitar duo of the band. Why a third guitarist?

Ok, Janick's solos aren't always the best, but as a showman and a songwriter he is just awesome!

And with 3 guitarists the sound is much thicker and the harmonies sounds alot better. Like, two of 'em can play harmonies and one is doing rythm (Revelations is a perfect example).

So I'm just saying, why not?

and becouse (jan said in "a day in maiden life" rock in rio DVD search for the day off of jan)he said becouse in a studio version you have to put like 5 guitars so it sound better in some song...so in stage you can do it the same like in studio becous ethe 3rd guitar will do all that things that appear in the studio album and not in the live version....

actually steve harris said that if this three-guitarist-thing didn't work out, adrian would have to leave the band again.

furthermore the band is better than ever. brave new world and a matter of life and death are the best albums they ever recorded.

and if jannick were not in the band we would have t miss songs like dream of mirrors, the legacy, dance of death etc.

so better be happy about jannick in the band ;)

Can someone tell me what a sellout is? I keep hearing it and people say that Kiss are sell-outs and I don't know what it means.

Okay, I'm not the best at explaining but I'll give it a try; Why a person or a band is being called a sellout is (in Metallica and Kiss case) because they didn't stick to their own style and just made music to sell. Like Metallicas "Black Album", which were too soft compared to the rest of the Metallica albums before that, or Kiss "Dynasty", which was too disco compared to other Kiss albums.

I think you could say that Sellout means that your in it for the money!

It's like this, in short words, radio likes softer songs. Fans likes when band stays with their original sound. If the band starts writing softer songs that radio wants to play, for the famousy and moneys sake, the fans call them sell-outs, which means they sold out their music to get money.

Well then Janick's first gig was at a pub aswel...they used to play pubs every now and then, sometimes as maiden, some times under a fake name, hackney, holy smokers, harlots etc. but I mean, the band was big enough to fill stadiums right in 1980, so Adrian wasnt there when all the played were pubs only. only Dave and Steve were there at that Pub period, with Doug, Dennis, Clive etc.

Adrian played pubs with Urchin and also some "secret gigs" with Maiden. I have one bootleg where they play at a pub and Adrian sing most of the B side songs.

That doesnt count as 'playing pubs with maiden' that boot is probably from 1986 where him and Nicko did some solo gigs...Maiden left the pubs right after the first album was released.
