  • LOL AT 5:19 !

  • Guys I think Sarah Chang is a Sibelius Superwoman!!!!!!!! Watch the moment of 7:23 !!!!!! Sarah Chang shaked her head and showed the audiences how enthusiastic she was.

  • one of the most beautiful moments in all of violin repertoire. <3

  • Who are those 8 idiots who don't like this?! You ignorant!

  • Definitely THE best Sibelius I have ever heard!!!

  • there should be a love button :D

  • I believe Sarah Chang is one of the greatest violinists ever! She is in the same league as Heifetz, Mintz, Oikstrakh, Paganini, Vivaldi, Perlman, and Haendel. She doesn't just play all the notes with technical perfection, she FEELS the music! It's almost like she herself feels all of Sibelius' emotions as she plays though this concerto, the same emotions he must have felt when he composed this music.

  • quelle volupté

un son pur , merveilleuse interprétation d'un grande maturité et sensuelle de plus

    la p e r f e c t i o n ...

pas de sensiblerie ni vibrato inutile comme certains qui pleurent un peu trop

    jm de heredia

  • Brilliant composer , brilliant soloist.

  • Fabulous playing from Sarah and the orchestra sounds fantastic this is such a beautifully orchestrated concerto it helps when the group sounds as good as the soloist.

  • She almost look like Michelle Kwan...lol

  • Too bad allegro ma non tanto is cut in half ;( love that song

  • As magelpie said, this is a HEAVENLY interpretation of the Adagio movement! It's as if she personally knew Sibelius, because it sounds like she is conveying and transmitting the exact emotions with which he composed this violin concerto. She is my musical role model, I'm practicing hard to be as good as she is very soon!

  • elle joue en faisant chanter son violon, presque une voix un peu grave mais profonde et touchante

    trés belle sonorité

    intensité musicale

    expression de sentiments

l'orchestre est à la hauteur un accompagnement intense et trés beau

  • now why should you mind the comments of those haters? why let their ridiculous comments affect your judgment? close your eyes, listen... what do you feel? believe only that... not those dead weights

  • she is awesome im so proud of korean violinists. i luv korea and i luv sara chang

  • the guy in the right at 7:34 always seems to make dirty expressions. he's probably jealous he is not the soloist.

  • @Violanerd6 He was probably thinking, "A soloist is not supposed to look THAT sexy!".

How can you NOT pay attention to this lady? She's so beautiful AND she plays the violin even MORE beautifully than she looks!!

  • Messy.

  • Heavenly interpretation of that second movement. I was close to tears.

  • This is a genius. Period.

  • Yes indeed, she is so good.

  • why does her violin look so big?

  • if a violin is a lighter color it makes uit look bigger , but a darker varnish or color , i t makes a violin look small.

  • Her head is just that small. Not to say anything about her ego, on the other hand...

  • @violingdae I think she is just petite so it looks bigger.

  • @violingdae she's just small haha

  • You don't have to compare yourself with nobody. Each of us is unique! As a musician, you have to spend your time achieving quality in your playing and developing your personality. Don't use your energy on thinking of others or making comparison. You need your energy and your strenght to become better and better..

  • I am doing the Bruch and Zigeunerweisen, you do need to do few hours a day, solid, you have to play catch up to compare with these guys and gals

  • to be this good, you just have to be dedicated and in love with the music. you cant really put any specific number of hour it takes for solid technique and musical maturity. everything obviously comes with time.

  • One day, I'm gonna be as good as her!! (I knwo to some it may seem impossible, but it's not!!)

  • It is possible to be this good, but you're going to have to practice like 5 hours daily for about a year to get this good. You can do it. I want to play as good as her too...right now, I'm going through the Bruch concerto. What are you playing right now?

  • to be this good. you have to practice like 8 hours a day for 15 years. started when you was 5 years old.

  • Well, that's not necessarily true. I saw 9-year-old Valerie Kim playing the Bruch violin concerto very well, and I've seen other child prodigies playing through some fiendishly-hard stuff. Becoming a violin virtuoso is all about patience, dedication, and perseverance, not about how much time it takes.

  • Actually studies have confirmed that it takes about 10,000 hours of practice to become an expert.

  • Right now I'm just playing the easier peices, like Air on the G String, by J.S. Bach, and nessun dorma. Those are my absolute favourites.

  • haha i'm also doing bruch. imo bruch is actually relatively easy... compare with mendelssohn/tchaikovsky.

and i'm still struggling with the arpeggios at the start of 1st mvmt, due to a total lack of practice ):

  • Not 5 hours...much more than that..

  • Impossible is nothing; it's up to u to decide .

  • I love her. She plays the violin very well and She is very beautiful too.

  • She looks tough! I Wouldnt mess with her!

  • You've been watching too many karate movies, LOL. Have you been watching "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon"?

  • LOL, i wasn't thinking that she was going to beat me into a pulp or anything...she just looks mature, stronger.

  • She's skinny now! Wow!

  • Great Moment at 2:22

  • she's 28

  • My favorite movement from this concerto is "Allegro Ma Non Tanto". It almost makes you want to dance, even though it's unusual to dance to classical music!

  • No it's not, ever heard of a waltz?

  • Yup, and I've heard of polonaises as well.

  • how old was she?

  • Love this piece, and love the violinist. :)

However sometimes I think that her vibrato and stroke is a little too intense for the moment- though that's merely a matter of personal taste! She plays beautifully, and I really enjoyed this.

  • Uggh, section that begins at 1:42 too fast. That's the most beautiful point in the piece. it can really bring out the blend in the orchestra.

  • sarah chang is a beautiful virtourso violinist and totally rocked sibelius concerto! oh yea! woot woot!! i wish there was a video of her playing tzyigane by ravel..

  • NICE STRADIVARIUS!

  • it's a Del Jesu.

  • lolllllll

    i hope you were kidding....

  • Thats not a strad honey

  • I love that bow flick she does at 7:58!

  • Oops, I meant 7:48.

  • The idiocy of commenting a violinists weight just because she is a woman is truly vomit-inducing. Sarah Chang is one of her generations most accomplished performers, and her Sibelius is among the most deeply felt performances i have ever heard. Mr van Zveden

a wonderful violinist in his own right and

nowadays also a first class conductor provides with his orchestra a balanced yet powerful rendition of the score. Please weight watchers, lift You pigly faces out of the mud

    and listen and feel!!!

  • @dereczynski Ah thank you, I was trying to find out the name of the conductor. I see he's now at Dallas, a few hours away from me. Hopefully I'll get to hear him live some day.

  • A blanket sterotypical statement about all Korean make that all Asian violinist lol and isn't Sarah like from Philly? I've met her she's like the girl next door (the very beautiful girl next door).

  • @MoesTube1 The girl next door who spends her time traveling the world to play concerts XD

  • I think this was the best part of the whole performance. =] She plays the second movement beautifully.

  • i thank to uploader very very much! i loved it!!! it is incredible!!!

  • i've seen her perform this in LA. she lost alot of weight in this clip. she looks stunning. i love her stage presence. she's not that tall in person, but on stage she always looks statuesque and solid. even when she is being aggressive with that forearm, she stiall always manages to look relaxed, graceful, and feminine. although she is one of my favorites, i don't care for all of her recordings, however, she is beautiful to whatch , nonetheless.

  • wow. you are a HATER son. absolutely shallow and rude. can you play as well or yet alone, play the entire concerto?

  • LOLOL

  • She's even better live than on recordings most players aren't. Very exciting to watch and listen to.
