"If you don't vote there is basically no purpose to you being here"??? WTF is this school teaching these kids??? At this stage of the game, NOT VOTING is perhaps the best thing we as citizens can do. The system is broken and stacked against dissenting voices, and voting only gives legitimacy to an illegitimate and oppressive state. To assert that I am not doing my civic duty because I refuse to vote for Wall Street candidate A or Wall Street candidate B is preposterous.

The 12 year-old kid is right. People died to give all of us an opportunity at a privilege only a few people in the world have. I know --because I didn't have that privilege when younger. When we don't exercise our civic duty -- their death was in vain ... at least for people who think like you. You might not like either candidate (neither do I). But let your voice count. The kid is being taught a worthwhile value.
