Is this show worth watching? I saw the pilot when it first premiered and I just couldn't get into it. Now, I've only seen the first episode so I'm judging by that. The show doesn't seem to have any kind of storyline (correct me if I'm wrong). The only reason I was even remotely interested in it was because it takes place during the 60's and I'm very much into the 30-40 and 50-60 era; I love classic hollywood movies and anything vintage. This show doesn't really go anywhere...I'm assuming.

This show sucks. All the beautiful people again and again. No realism, no stop-over in Ireland, straight to London, I don't think so! Wasn't there a war going on, the pilots (kids) would be anywhere but flying PanAms International flights especially to Europe.

captains and girls. this show portrays an era of fun and excitement in the airline industry. my mom also says one of the executive producers or writers is an ex pan flight attendant, so i'm sure alot of the stories in the show are some of her experiences (and of course exaggerated a bit for hollywood). I still remember the pan am toys and stuff my mom would bring home from her trips.
My mom has been a flight attendant for 40 years, right after she graduated HS she was worked with Pan Am untill they went under in 1991, and now she works for Delta Airlines....she still has the flyer for becoming a Pan Am flight attendant in her yearbook, woman had to be a certain height, weight, and certain look to fly back then, it was all about the "image" she tells me stories about the fun they used to all have when flying was fun...from the training schools, to stayingout late with the....
@Critique808 In the 60s, there were no male flight attendants. They were called stewardesses, and their sole purpose was to look good while prancing around the plane. Did you watch the show? They're required to wear girdles as part of their uniform and are forced to maintain a proper weight.

@Critique808 Back in the 60s airlines customers were mainly men, they were considered guests of a flying house, and flight attendants were all women because that was what a woman was supposed to do in a house (again in the Sixties): taking care of guests, serving drinks and food. And of course smile all the time. As far as I know, the very first flight attendants hired by airlines were all nurses because they were trained to take care of others. Again, another only women job.
It's unbelievable how beautiful are the cars in this series compared to the terribly UGLY horrible cars we drive nowadays.....not to say girls are prettier,people in general is not obese,music is...well MUSIC etc....

I hate when people say they should have lived in the 60s because it's usually an ignorant claim and if they really looked beyond the fashion and the music, they'd realize their error in their thinking. hippies weren't mainstream at all. they were a subculture that was frowned upon in the press. and the 60s had mad problems, too. just like there are problems today. idk about you but i'd rather live in this decade, as we don't have a freaking draft to deal with

Aye please I keep the modern cars for practical reasons. I refuse to drive those old ass cars. I want strenght, I want speed. yesteryear's scars you guys seem to love were rare in town and its only rich folk who owned them.fatties were all over the place in the 60s.it is just with people having less cash you'd not see a poor and a rich on the same side of the road.Quit dreaming the 60s were not glossy

Ah, the good old days. Back then, there were only STEWARDESSES, and certainly NOT any faggotty male "flight attendants" like we have today. And the stewardess all looked really HOT, and they were EDUCATED and SMART. Today, most of them are as dumb as cockier spaniels, and not much better looking either.
