Elizabeth May - Let's assume everything you say is True. So, Alberta Canada should be the ONE and only one to throw ourselves on the sword of environmentalism. To encourage others to do the same? Show me HARD ALTERNATIVES not dream of alternatives. Do not invoke Peter Lougheed name to help your vote. Peter Lougheed is not alive to tell you that you are wrong.
Gordon the work you're doing is important. Just be careful because debates are meant to be unbiased. Maybe it should have been called something else besides a debate. I don't get it. Did anybody from the native Indian community show up? Who picked the panel? I support the idea of using LFTR. Keep up the good work. I'd like to see how much the LFTR would improve the process.

@RickMaltese@RickMaltese Rick, sorry I forgot there are 2 copies of this video posted ( see CEF version "Oil Sands Debate - Is Development Ultimately Irreconcilable with the Environment?" ). The reason this one may look biased is the intro, although the content is essentially the same. I was trying to expose the same conversation/debate to multiple audiences, so having a Green Party candidate intro it as an EMay debate in was part of that. "Debate" was how the event was listed to attendees.
Great debate, May's quoting of lougheed was very well done. Even people who don't oppose the oil sands know that the expansion was too quick, unnecessary and threatened local people's water. If this is truly a stable industry then plan for it instead of this oil boom mentality that we have seen
rhettnyedotorg, the original soundboard mixing is available on Internet Archive. If you are REALLY worried about the editing, I can post a split-screen of the whole thing (to IA) without trimming any dead air. This version has come dialog removed which I just though were less interesting... in that regard ALL speakers lost some dialog. But if you believe dialog was cut with any intention other than making the video easier to watch, that was certainly not my intention.
I was not really planning uploading that to my YouTube account, as I generally post stuff trimmed down to make it as watchable as possible. But there IS a LONGER version also posted to this YouTube account, you can find it (with chapter stops) at gordonmcdowell-dot-com , and I've also finished uploading my hand-held cam footage to Archive-dot-org (search: ELIZABETH MAY OIL SANDS). Let me know if you need/want that on YouTube too.

@gordonmcdowell It comes across as the speakers using a debate for personal gain. Check out my latest posting about nuclear energy regulatory issues

Programming Code + Emails = Scam
ClimateGate is real. These people want their carbon credit scam.
People should start lawsuits against these scammers like David Suzuki and Al Gore and more...

@btester1 I agree with you, this is all a pile of crap and the worst part is people are falling for it.

We now know for sure that global warming is a lie and so are all these dummies in the green party.
Wake up and smell the coffee guys, we need oil and I don't want to buy it from saudi arabia, do you?
