Still wish parrying had made it to SF4. I don't get how the devs were saying "Parrying makes SF too much of a defensive tank fest". Do who? Parrying mechanically -shuns- turtling. You have to leave yourself wide-ass open to do it...how is that tankish? Even red parrying having to follow a block doesn't seem defensive, since any move that hits more than once is even RISKIER to counter.
Ah well. I love JKD and the like. Guess I'm just a parry fan. That and table-turning rocks.
The parry system didn't make it also because less technical gamers were not happy with it. The more basic gamer tends not to matser the parry system thus giving them no chance against more advanced gamers. SF4 has taken a more universal approach where in which the less technical gamer has more of a chance now against more advnced gamers such as yourself and I. Man am i gonna miss the parry system!
The only downside to keeping up with a game as popular as this is moments like this...where the natural advancement takes the form of a game built for the lowest common denominator.

Yeah sounds good. I do like SF IV but i don't think it will ever be as amazing and unpredictable as SF III! I still role up Trocadero just to see if any one fancies rewinding the clock back to the SF III days. Rarely get a challenge
@HotaruZoku Because if you get good enough you could essentially parry every attack your opponent throws at you meaning you would be invincible.That's why they put in the focus attack.
I see the use and the view point of it all. Makes developmental sense, sure.
It's the no-scrub in me that gravitates towards any game that has a technique within which mastering it -does- make one invincible. It's the principle is all.
I get it though. One can only take so many years of never landing a single hit. I'm sure the devs had been screamed at for years to "fix" it.

This isn't fake just so people know. It probably took a while for this guy to do. Red Parrying can be risky, its often for show. There are times when you only have a few pixels of health on your screen and you gotta redparrr or parry.

basically the same thing, but called guard for the fact that you're guarding, red for the sake that you turn red instead of blue. Basically guard is technical term, red is slang.
a red parry is performed after you block at least one hit, come out of blocking and perform a parry. can only be done during a combo. he had auto parry on. he blocked the first few hits then stood still and let the auto parry take over, ive done it before. its in the extras menu you get after beating arcade mode with gill. if you stand still and do nothing, you'll auto parry all hits.
Just for everyone who doesn't know, 3rd strike is out for download on PS3 and XBOX 360 =]

parrying oros attack is similar to uriens reflector super. You press back and forward as your teching each hit. Try it.. it works :)
