I was laughing so hard when you took the first smell of the smoothie because of your reaction! You're a champ! I'm putting beets in a green smoothie tonight!
The Vita-Mix would fix that blender issue there, lol. Seriously I love my Vita-Mix. 240 MPH, yeah, lol. But thanx for the beet recipe, been looking for a way to eat the beets. I love beets but im getting sick of eating them soaked in vinegar, lol.
@spbroy Just water works fine, if you're trying to avoid too much sweet stuff. Or use other types of melon, berries, grapes, citrus... You will probably just need to add more water to make it liquid enough.
I'm curious, but not as curious as my....--fear? Fear of mixing watermelon with other things. I love watermelon, but prefer it alone. I make smoothies, mostly green ones. however, i do mix pomegranate in some smoothies, leaving the bottom grainy with seeds and surface almost filmed with a waxy like stuff, since we're on the theme of red here. I do put beets in some smoothies. Y'know a sugar comes from beets. U may wanna try weaning off of sweet, so 2 enjoy other flavours & round out your meal.
You are a very beautiful woman! And I will try that recipe! The watermelon base is a good idea since watermelon are not too acidic because I am going to follow the PH miracle diet soon.
I have no problems with a mason jar full. You just drink it slow. I use them as a meal or snack - so that's all i will have. Then a few hours later - when i feel hungry again- I'll have something else.
What store do you buy your food from? I want to be vegetarian or vegan(healthier), but i don't know where to begin. the only place i buy my food from is walmart. Is that bad? I'm on a budget, too so that makes it a bit harder... Please and thanks!
Walmart doesn't sell vegetables except frozen and canned, depending on what you buy it can be bad and it can be okay. I prefer to go to a grocery store and buy fresh produce, its not that pricey, just depends on what you buy again and how much you buy.
hi there, i always feel like a bit of a nut when i comment on videos and have no point to make but i had to say great videos, you seem like an american version of my best friend.
im thinking abotu trying raw giving myself at least 30days.. now i dont have the most money either so buying all these fruits and veggie(fresh) is going to be a pretty penny out of my pocket.. do i have to buy a processor, blender, dehydrator, etc?? are there easier ways to get the same job done for someone whose trying to save?
I really don't think fresh fruits & veggies are any more expensive than prepackaged meals & meats & cheeses, etc. Fruits are typically less than $2.00 per pound. I can spend like $30 a week and have way more food than is even necessary. Honestly, if you buy smart, it's not any more expensive. It's probably actually cheaper. I have a blender & food processor. They were probably about $100 each. And I usually never use either one. I eat all my fruits & veggies whole.
I *JUST* started doing smoothies. Like 4 days ago =) Before that, I might have used my blender once every few months at the absolute most.
I just eat all my fruits whole, all my veggies whole. I don't waste my time trying to dehydrate or anything. I hate things mixed together (like in those fancy raw recipe books) I like things separate. (the exception being smoothies, of course)
Don't go to extremes if you're just starting out. Keep it simple!!
oh no i completely agree, just i have a family and i know my husband wont eat like this so i would have to buy that crap. are there any websites about rawfood or have recipes? i checked out the library (all books checkedout) and i went to barnes and nobles and read the books but couldnt buy them at 40 bucks a piece haha
Ahh, when you've got family involved (who are not participating!) that's totally different ;p LOL But I bet they would enjoy the green smoothies, if they like fruit =) You can pass them off as green fruit smoothies & not even mention the spinach, etc. ;)
I posted a bunch of links in the description box, you should be able to find recipes there. Or just do a Google/Yahoo/etc search for Raw food recipes. You should find hundreds.
Wow, that looks pretty yummy! That honey looks so good, I have an addiction for honey. Didn't they used to use beets for red dye? I seem to vaguely remember reading that somewhere, it makes sense though!
omg that looks so good! That raw honey looks yummy, i have never seen that before I'll have to get some. I hate sour mangos. I got some the other day and that happened to me too. You expect this yummy thick sweetness and its like biting into a freaking lemon.
i know this sounds crazy but beets and carrot juice is actually really really good... and its raw the only bad thing is that u would need a food processor...
It's a Pentacle plus a Lunar Triple Goddess symbol, representing the three aspects of the moon (waxing, waning, and full) and womankind (mother, maiden, crone), as well as the Lady, or Goddess, the feminine polarity of the universe.
to get more juice from your limes or lemons pop them in the microwave for 15 seconds than roll them on the counter, you get so much more juice that way..
microwaving food strips it of it's nutrients. Even if it is a couple of seconds you are basically zapping it with micro-waves, completely contradictory to the raw food diet.
For those of us skipping the microwave step, I think if you just squeeze the lemon/lime a bit before cutting it open you will get a bit more juice, too =)

I prefer red beets in a salad with a lot of vinegar (apple cider) and then add some sweet touches to it, like dried raisins and chuncks of apple

Not sure if this would work for this smoothy, but if you want it to have an extra kick, try grating a tiny amount of ginger in.

I do have a nice chunk of raw ginger sitting in my kitchen ;) I will have to grate some up & toss it in one of these smoothies! I LOVE ginger!! =)
