Force Recon has never been a sustained unit. During my 8 years it existed, went away, then was geting reconstituted when I got out. Didn't see much of them except their running around KBay with their swim fins and getting their asses kicked in bars because they thought they were something and disrespecting their brothers.
Then I guess that I'll have to change that, I've met some FORECON guys and not one thought they were better then any other Marine. but who knows you prolly got some MSOB boys that thought they were Force Recon.

I can tell you with 100% certainty that we used M16's and M4's while on sniper missions, simply because of the range and number of targets. a long isnt always your best friend in todays battlefield.
yea, but usually the sniper carries the long range (usually bolt action) rifle and the spotter has an M4 or M16. but you are right, some snipers upgrade to an iron heavy barrel for more accuracy and use an M16.

actually there both snipers but one is the shooter the other is the spotter. also they work with the squadron sometimes to get into cities and stuff

that arguement about the m4 carbine, remember snipers most often work in 2s and they both wont have their bolt action guns out at the same time or have long barreled guns out at the same time so they equip a assualt rifle as well

thats not true, because the spotter focus on other targets that could be sniper, the spotter keeps a watchful eye out for enemys, but more importantly enemy snipers.

Snipers are a two man team. One with an M4 and the other with the "Sniper Rifle." The guy with the M4 is the spotter in a two man team.

Snipers usualy carry two rifles, like in the SAS, a sniper would carry his SA-80, sometimes equipped with a grenade launcher, and keep his sniper rifle in a rifle bag, for when he reaches his destination. That is why that dude is carrying an M4.
