I have seen people thrive on high carb, low fat raw vegan. Check out "Durian Riders" channel. Even if you don't become a fruitarian by increasing your fruit intake and decreasing your fat you will feel better!
She looks like most vegans and some vegetarians I know. All are overweight women. In nature it is the herbivores that have large bulky physiques and the carnivores are sleek and muscular and lighter bodyweights.
@auggiedoggy Check out "The Fruitarian" channel, and "Durianriders" and "Freelea," and see for yourself how healthy and fit and muscular a raw foodist can get! :)
@ThePreppyHippie : Many people can make such a diet work over the short haul and the younger vegans and fruitarians look fine but eventually, unless they cheat on their diet, they develop deficiencies and show signs like low lean body mass, cold body temperature, hair loss, nail problems, dental erosion, infertility, etc. There is a reason that these types of diets have a high turnover rate. Few can survive on them. There is also a lot of dietary cheating going on.
@auggiedoggy It is true that if you under eat calories on a raw vegan diet, you will experience nutritional deficiencies, just like you will if you eat a calorie abundant diet of junk food. However, there are several longterm vegans and vegan raw fooders who have been living and eating this way for a long time. I have never felt better than I do on raw foods. Its not a crazy religion where we want to be unhealthy and keep it a secret. I feel great, and as long as I do, I will eat this way!
@ThePreppyHippie : May I ask your age and how long you have followed a raw vegan diet? One other point that I usually make is that the healthiest populations in the worlds are not vegan, certainly not fruitarian nor are they even vegetarian. Look at populations like the Okinawans, the Sardinians and Icelanders as examples. I find the extreme diets; low-carb and vegan/fruitarian do not produce healthy populations and the evidence has illustrated this throughout our history.
Raw = lots of great nutrients. Raw doesn't equal skinny. There's lots of fruit consumed and delicious puddings with raw sugar products and cacao. We should all do our own research and realise what really is involved in a diet and make our own minds up as to whether it suits us or not. Greens, whether eaten raw in a salad or in a smoothie or cooked are a massive benefit to your health.
@FoodHoney I absolutely agree. A raw food taco could have as much as 100 g of fat. It is hard to say that much fat could be truly beneficial. This I know:
Greens are amazing, fruit is pretty awesome too, but make sure you do get enough protein and everyone needs to be mindful not to overdo fat or calories.
@liberatelabanimals I was 100% raw vegan and after initial weight loss began to gain weight - i looked pregnant - i was eating so much because i wasn't satiated. i also was flabby when skinny because i didn't exercise - raw vegan doesn't necessarily mean fit and toned.
Of course Victoria is RAW! It's crazy to think anything else. She's the main person who taught me about living a raw life style. I think she looks wonderful!
