It's funny how reactions vary in each of us while listening to Joy division. For ex. some people might dislike this song, some not. others might dance to this or relationate it with a experience or memory. In my case, the guitar makes me think of that old Playstation 2 game ´´Jimmy neutron and Jet fusion´´ , the soundtrack that plays in the desert area, LOL ! x)
@catastrpoheballet101 Joy Division is an acquired taste. Like beer for example, but if you don't like them that's cool. Different people different taste.
I always thought of this song as a description of revolutionaries and their betrayals of one another (think of south america)... the traitor is never the person you expect.
Fuck in what ass was my head stuck? i mean i'm 19 years old and this is the first time i hear this song from Joy Division, just a masterpiece, i'm shock and at the same time feel ashamed for not listening to this hole album years ago, bands like Joy Division deserve to be explored, To listen to all their songs and understand, Now i understand and even if it's to late I listen............ Thank You Ian Curtis!
so easy..... i put my trust on you. ..... consequences.... i did really believe all that shit you put in my head, it had to be this.... you have nothing but a little fucking way of liying...'n maKe some one to believe your shit..... 'n where da hell r u? r u dead? or what? u r going to think in the very last moment of fading away b'tween life'ndead, me i've been alone for so long that i thought more than allot.....
@remywood81 I think sometimes none can't tell...historical evidence detective work - ah, Prozac wasn't about then...I still don't know what he's saying...sounds like "Prozac highs" to me!
Albums like this are why I literally prefer simple arrangements. It makes it easy to just get an idea right. So many bands are trying to layer out arrangements with noise and nothing is quite right, unlike this album.
A Stupid cheesy Pop singer tried to copy the theme of this beautiful Song.
His name is Patrick Bruel, the song "Face". I was shocked when i saw it... He played it live, and his intro is exactly the theme of "A means to an end" for about 20 second....and then it becomes an awful typical French pop song.
I do not even know how he could have heard about JOY DIVISION...His world and their world are so antithetic!!!
fabulous!

@thisiscellll
Beer isn't an "acquired" taste it's a "required" taste.
