Just because someone has an opinion does not mean it has to be taken seriously. Jake One put some of the most bland artists I've ever heard onto his CD. If that is his idea of great emcees, than he does not need to be talking about the current state of hip hop.

Just because he has 85% of what you consider to be "True Hip Hopper" Aesthetic but the other percentage (his choice in emcees) rubs you wrong, he automatically cant talk. My whole point from the begining was that I don't feel he's qualified to be truely taken seriously on the subject matter that he's speaking about. To answer your question, anyone with enough knowlege on the past, present, and future of hip hop has the right to speak on it. I didn't say Jake did not have the "right" to do so, but if you're making a video on the state of rap, posting it onto youtube, and expecting people to take you seriously you can't put a photo of Lil Wayne at the begining. On top of that, he really didn't have much to say. This backs up my assumption that Jake really doesn't know too much about what makes a good MC.
