  • Horrible samskrita pronunciation. Very unpleasant rendering.bah bah

  • Thank you for sharing this video. The stotram and the way singers have sung creates a positive influence on the listener.

Thanks again and may HE bless you.

  • Is it only me but I was hearing this song with the book and found lot of flaws in the sanskrit pronounciation?

  • Great post and i really like the way in which it has been presented by the singers Sulamangalam sisters. It surely gives energy and positive vibrations ! and that too the subtitles were helpful in understanding what the shostram is all about. Thanks :)

  • Any Stotra should be chanted with soucham (cleanliness standards proposed in vedas) but Aditya Hrudyam is an exception. This can chanted any time any where in any state.

  • The Aditya Hrudayam exactly takes 8 minutes 19 seconds to complete. This is the same time the sun light to reach earth (8.3 minutes , .3 minutes is 19 seconds). One of the authentic Aditya Hrudyam Singers. Great Job.

  • Hi, Aditya Hrudayam is extremely effective for those who are feeling weak, it creates positive vibes, it should be said daily by those suffering from depression, feeling low and defeated in life. Believe me this works wonders!

  • @confusedsoul1000

Thank you friend. I will listen to this stotram daily from now on.

  • to weather yogis

da sun is a dearest friend

    woooooo!

im sure this blessing will bring tranquility

    and peace to the world

  • Thanx for posting the meaning for the slokas. Was very helpful in teaching my five yr old as he keeps asking for meaning of the slokas when learning.

  • @xXBlackxRebelXx: Nature, in itself, is composed of many elements as you would probably already know. Aditya is Light, and The Sun is only representative of Light, which is an indispensable part of Nature. Another justification would be that since The Sun is by far the most powerful body, in proximity to the Earth, and is the source of life on this planet, it is worshipped as the representation of The God of Light. :) At the heart of it all, Vedanta is monotheistic.

  • @therealthing83

Vedanta is monistic, NOT monotheistic. We believe that, from the standpoint of Absolute Reality, only Brahman exists and nothing else.

  • Chill guys.. the sun is a star no different from alpha centauri and millions of stars in our milky way galaxy.. and lets stop fighting over unverifiable events ..

Nice music.. but the rendition could have been better with respect to pronunciation.

  • someone posted to me a mantra for financial problems.. but i don't know what happened to it.. does anyone know a mantra that can help me? i feel like i'm drowning.

  • here is one mistake sun is d son of adithi not dithi so plz correct it in translation.

  • @harshavardhanchauhan politeness is a virtue

  • is Aditya the "sun as 'god'" ? or is it Divine Light? this sounds rather monotheistic but in some instances it seems to refer to the sun itself...

  • @xXBlackxRebelXx

Aditya is the sun God. Aditya Hrudayam ... is "the heart of the sun god" ( seen from the spiritual angle) The emitter of illuminating rays...the one who has a sway over the planets, the moon and other celestials ( the source of light and energy). He is the palpable God ..... yet remains hidden in all elements......he is certainly more than the physical sun and a monothestic view....

  • @nrkkvsnlcom many thanks for such a beautiful youtube channel!

One part of Hinduism (with my best understanding) which I adore is its peace toward surface contradictions that at first can vex the logic-based western mind- Many Gods, and the greater the god, the more they love God! Surya is the divine sun, the spiritual sun, lord of this system in this spiral galaxy- and the sun loves God, is evolving toward ever more refined life and breath within God... as are we all. What a blessing, Surya!

  • @mercuryhelix

Actually Hinduism is more logic-based than the Abrahamic religions which have conditioned the "logic-based western mind." Our logic penetrates the apparent paradoxes of life, and touches the very soul of Religion. :)

  • @xXBlackxRebelXx

All the gods are but a manifestation of Brahman. You can call Him Krishna, Shiva, Jesus, Allah etc. The names don't matte. Again, Brahman is your very Self. Hence, you, and I, and everyone else, is potentially divine.

  • Really powerful manthra we can learn easily and get the vicory over our tasks ahead

  • I find the music and method of recitation of sloka something akin to one used in sama veda-very melodious and form which needs to be revived-.Infact i shall be very pleased if some musician from South India composed new sloka and music based on Vedic knowledge.I liked this video very much

  • Hey..This is exactly the idea that came to me a few days ago..

  • very good tune, video and photos with meanings!!!very good stotra

  • This mantra, according to me, is for the ALL MIGHTY GOD. The sun is a metaphor meaning GOD.

  • Dear Ramesh ,

Ego is not a bad thing in itself.Ego is there for a reason. To make us a better person. There would not be a Ramayanam without Ravana.Learn more about Hitler before you speak about him , the tragedy that ensued or words like scourge. Genghis Khan's mongol warriors was a scourge .Thanks for posting I enjoyed it thoroughly.

    Cheerio!

  • @suvarbal

    Dear suvarbal

I agree that ego is not a bad thing by itself. But Ravana was not just ego, but the ego that did not accept the superiority of Ram the "inner divinity".

In Ramayana, at the end Ram did respect the dead Ravana by arranging the last rites.

The message is that the ego that does not respect the inner divinity in all beings has to be eliminated!

    Ramesh

  • bahu uttamam asti. Shrutwa mahan pramoda: jatha:

( It is very good. Very pleased to hear)

  • Translation is awesome and makes the Stotram very easy to understand. Music is appealing and the sisters have done a great job with the recitation. Thanks!

  • The esoteric meaning of Ramayana is this: Ravana represents Ahankara or egoism. His ten heads represent the ten senses. The city of Lanka is the nine-gated city of the physical body. Vibhishana corresponds to the intellect. Sita is peace. Rama is Jnana (wisdom). To kill the ten-headed Ravana is to kill the egoism and curb the senses. To recover Sita is to attain the peace which the Jiva (individual) has lost on account of desires. To attain Jnana is to have Darsana of Rama or the Supreme Self.

  • He who crosses this ocean of Moha and destroys the Rakshasas,—Raga and Dvesha (likes and dislikes),—is a Yogin who is united with Santi or Peace, ever rests in Atman, and enjoys the eternal bliss. Sri Rama stands for the 'Good' (Sattva); Ravana for the 'Evil'. Sri Rama and Ravana fought with each other. Eventually Sri Rama became victorious. The positive always overcomes the negative. Good always overcomes evil.

  • Namaste, Thnaks for uploading. Clear and easy to understand translation. Overall a good work except few mis-pronounciation of mantras by the singers.

  • Thanks for uploading the best one. I missed forr so many years

  • Thanks for uploading.

  • Can you let me know what RAGA is that Sulamangalam Sisters are singing?

  • Though the music composed and the meaning of this Aditya Hrudayam Stotra is fantastic and par excellence. The singers, Sulamangalam Sisters, should have given importance to chanting the sanskrit words even more.

  • the sun is cool

  • The Sun, for the mankind, on this Earth, is perhabs the supreme Murti of Shiva. The Sun is a great manifestation/ symbol of Shiva, the Sun between all Gods

  • Comment removed

  • Ravana was a great king, warrior , administrator and statesman. His bakthi was of the highest level....composer of Shiva Tandava Stotra...he begged Shiva for moksha...after being tired of winning all the three worlds...Shiva replied he had blessed him with supreme powers and only Narayana could give him liberation...Ravan knew all along this game plan and played his part for the divine play to unfold and teach humankind....

  • @turbanless

The Epics such as Ramayana and Mahabharata should be treated as allegorical stories, rather than as historical facts.

  • @abhyudayamandal1not possible to be allegorical cos it was written down by valmiki himself...maybe alloyed over the passage of time, thats possible

  • That was a very beautiful rendering by the sulamangalam sisters....thank you so much for posting this!!!

    Muthukumaraswamy Senthil Kumar

  • Jai valmik Har Har Valmik

AJAR AMAR TIRKAAL DARSHEE BHAGWAN VALMIK JI MAHARAJ KI JAI!

thank you for sharing nice video i really like this,,

  • Really Great Work.....Thank You very much

  • Yes being conquered by Ram, Ravana has attained the highest state and would have realised the Self. That is what happens when God himself conquers someone. The Self (EGO) gives SARANAGATHI and becomes very simple realising that there is only the paramathma which exists in the whole Jagath and there is nothing existant. Truth is nothing had existed, is existing or will exist except for the Paramathma. Ravana in Srilanka would have attained this knowledge by now.

    Jai Sri Ram

  • Truly outstanding!! I am blessed to have found this post. Thank you very much!

  • I was just saying that as Im reading these post! This is truely amazing! Jai Sita Ram!

  • i am a srilankan .. the truth is king rawan not dead. he was unconcious by the rama's arrow. now his body is in ( kudugala girishiqaraya, mountain, sri lanka.) according 2 the our history he will wake some day , when river manik water touch his body.. normally its hard to believe.. but one day its gonna happen.. rawan never die,, he's a uniqe to this world. amazing power.. the books showing that, when he woke up, he is going to himalaya for meditation.. as a sinhalese i'm posting this.

  • WOw , But what if it happen? is he gonna do evil things again?

  • I think there is a hidden allegorical meaning to the Ramayana narrative. Ram is our true inner self, our inner divinity which we "banish" from our daily lives. Ravana is the ego with which rules most of our life. However, with Devotion ( Hanuman) and Focus ( Lakshman) we overcome the ego (Ravana) ( Cont'd)

  • Ramayana is the story taking place within each one of us.

Certainly Ravana is not eternally dead, he lives as the ego within many of us (may be not within the perfect man).

and certainly not limited to Sri Lanka the beautiful country!

I hope there won't be a Hitler like Ravana raising again to scrouge the world..I think the time has come to move to the era of enlightenment.

hey man, don't be like them stupid beings who would say Ramayana is the ego and all this crap. This is our history. Some texts mention Lanka as Atlantis. Lord Rama, the descendant of Raghuvanshi Aryans, who survived after allying with the flood king Manu (Noah in Hebrew) and retired to mount Sumeru and established Ayodhya as their capital. Lord Rama defeated Ravana and was crowned the emperor of the world.

This is history, not some philosophy

  • @emperor0989

Ramayana is not historical literature. It is an allegory. The rishis wrote and spread the Epics so that the abstruse knowledge of the Upanishads could be understood by the common man.

  • @abhyudayamandal1

again, wrong information by yet another ignorat fella. it was a HISTORICAL event, occuring 1.7 million years ago. it was a world history, just like the forst world war, the mahabharata occured over 12,000 years ago, was the first atomic warfare.

  • i dont think so,, according 2 the our history , he wake up and start 2 walk 2 himalaya... but still though he will be have that amazing power.but he will not be shown that ,,, he will be act like a simple man... thats written in kudugala temple... very very mysterious are that temple situated in. if i'm lyieng u can travel and can know the truth.. god bless..

  • Friend... this is very interesting information for me. Never heard this version. Whatever be the authenticity of this information, I appreciate you sharing with many others here.

  • i already knew if from near rawan alla (where rawan live) area from historical scientist. we know where that rawans body kept.. let the time go.. time will solve everything. according to the datas in that time in lanka , he will be wake up and as a human bieng he's going to himalaya in india.. thats is man.

this was a powerful presentation. beyond sacred as blessings!

    gratitude!

  • Really Superb posting, Thanks a lot for posting it ... Can you kindly send me the entire ppt with mp3, I would like to listen it every morning.

  • Hi...Surya is the son of Aditi, NOT Diti

Aditi is the mother of the Gods, Diti of the demons.

    Aditya= son of Aditi

  • You are right, it should have been Aditi, the "a" was missed!

Aditi is infinity, also unity, whereas Diti or Danu is that force which separates things.

Aditi is the source of the divine within humanity. Diti reflects its flawed aspect.

    Thank you.

  • This is Great...Thanks for posting !!! The subtitles along with the sanskrit hymn went very well..May Sun Almight shower his blessings on all !!!
