  • I soooo recognise that.........but I like to think that it's because I'm not actually focusing enough whilst I do things. When I do pay full attention to what I'm doing and where I'm putting things like keys - hey presto, I remember where they are - for now anyway!

  • Part 3 the sofa out to look behind it and again heard the keys jingle. I picked up the coat again to go through the pockets again and noticed the coat feeling heavy. And there they were, riding in the hood of my coat. I didn't know if I should laugh or cry so I did both. Life is such an adventure, isn't it? Don't tell my kids. The threaten to put me in a home already although it is done in jest. Some days I think I need to be there. LOL

  • Part 2 I dug through my purse thinking that maybe I didn't already have them out but not there. I got on my hands and knees to see if they had fallen off the sofa and slip under but not. I was getting hot crawling around with my coat on and it wasn't staying up on me right anyway so took off the coat and dropped it down on the sofa and heard keys jingle so picked up my coat and went through the pockets. Went through the sofa cushions again. No! I then picked up my coat again so I could pull

  • To the lady who is looking for her keys........look in the hood of your coat. I was ready to go out and forgot to set the alarm system. I put my coat down on the end of the sofa and laid my keys on it while I went over to the alarm box. When I came back I picked up my coat and put it on and then looked for my keys. They were gone. I searched through the sofa cushions and pillows and they weren't there so I walked back into the dining room by the alarm box, not there. I searched through my purse

  • This is my life. Today is my 67th birthday. Need I say more?

  • Add weed...OY

  • Lol it's like that book "If You Give A Mouse A Cookie" where one event leads to another and they eventually wind back where they started

  • Although I am pretty good at multi tasking having brought up 2 kids on my own and worked outside my home full time, I can still relate to his, in particularly when I am very tired. Thanks a lot, I nearly cracked a rib!

  • Reminds me of someone I see when I look in the mirror...bahahahahha

  • I forgot half way thru what this video was about then a pop up add showed up so i watched the pop up

  • Oh my gosh, I'm laughing so hard I have tears!! Mostly because it's me in a nutshell!!! So true!!! Good one for sure!!

  • While this may have been originally recognized in (2004) what society had defined as 'elderly', I am so happy to announce this has NOTHING to do with AGE.

As a Traumatic Brain Injury Thriver, symptoms depicted in the film are related to and result of Brain Injuries, albeit Traumatic (via blunt force, high-speed impact, etc) or Acquired (via aneurism, stroke, etc).

    Moving forward... there is HOPE!

  • The car keys are under the pile of letters on the counter... I only noticed this because I am currently looking for my own car keys...it's been two days now. :( Love this video. :)

  • What's the answer/ treatment ¿? Just accept it? Ok! Done!

  • this is so true

  • I'm 45.... and THIS is ME!!!! Ugh! Idk how nothing gets done either... Because I am SO busy all day! It sucks!

  • LoL I'm 26 and this is me on weekends! Weekdays are a little different at the ye old job. I tend to watch and comment on you tube videos....

  • No, this is not just age-related; it could be but it is a symptom of constant distraction of internet and cellphone checking and texting; our current way of living promotes this flitting about which is called multitasking, but which is really lack of focus and short attention spans.

  • Sounds like my day and I'm only 45!

  • Looks like you'd never get bored at least

  • Too funny - if only it didn't hit so close to home.

    Thank you!!

  • Priceless. I love how it is so simply done. Just a "slice of life" story that we can all relate to. Understated hilarity. Like slapstick in slow motion. Good work.

  • Seems everyone is guilty of this behavior sometimes, myself included.

  • Soo true. [five minutes later] Oh, I should probably hit post.

  • Too real!!

  • Spot On!

  • Absolutely and positively, mavelously done, that is all me right there, I am starting to get that way, but at least I get my bills paid, I don't use a check book, I pay cash, but yeah, one thing leads to another and boom.

  • OMG This is me. You could put me in that video and I actually may even be able to get more of less done that she does!

  • Yup, that's how it happens, busy all day, exhausted, but nothing accomplished from my To Do list. Arghhhh soooooo frustrating!!!

  • OH NO.... I have this... will my employer be able to give me a handicap spot or park at special spot at the mall

  • Fabulously funny! Thanks for making it - what a jewel!

  • That is my life everyday but not as bad as hers. How can I get it fixed or calmed down?

  • HEY !!! That's where my remote is !!!

  • It's funny, and kinda sad, and absolutely effortless to relate to. How did I end up here anyway, I was looking for info on the functioning of gyroscopes...

  • On the one hand, this is EXCELLENT. Kinda' hilarious.

And on the other hand - it's me!

OMG - this is funny, but then again - this is soooo accurate it's not funny at all (that is, if it's really a portrait of you). You caught adult ADD so well, it's a bit scary. But keep up the good work - you're a remarkable observer of adult ADD.

  • I hope I'm not the only one who freakishly relates to this scenario!

  • This is so real!

  • Oh dang! This is me!

  • One thing at a time!!! It happens to all of us, im only 27!! haha, good reminder to stay focused and try not to get distracted too much by the many things i could do!!! :)

  • this is excellent! Sums my life up nicely! Such a cute little video

  • This is the story of my life! LOL! Love it!

  • Life is one big game of Whack-A-Mole!

  • i'm 38 and this happens to me every day! lol :D

  • This happens to me all the time. And I'm not even in my twenties yet!

  • This looks like it's a segment of Keeping Up Appearences or Are You Being Served or any of those BBC sitcoms that are still on Saturday nights on PBS!

  • Lol. That's my kind of day to a T! busy all the time but nothing to show for it and it's so frustrating. I was diagnosed ADHD about 4 years ago. On mess now but it's still a struggle. Kitten - you are talking from the perspective of someone who isn't ADHD. That's why you don't understand. It's like trying to understand a foreign language and saying "all you have to do is listen in the dark with no visual cues - it's easy". Sorry- you don't know what you're talking about.

  • This was BRILLIANT!! My life in a nutshell.

@ AutumnKitten You have NO idea what you're talking about. People that are ADHD, are hardwired differently than the rest of the "normal" population. It's not a matter of "just trying harder", "staying on task" or being "scatter brained". We are Hunters/Warriors in a Farmer/Gatherer society. Our unique abilities are not useful in the society in which we live. We seem "broken" to you, but we're just different. Our skill set is just radically different.

  • It's called 'scatter brains'. Finish - one - project - at - a - time before starting a new one. It's that easy. And share the load of chores and other house hold activities with family and neighbors if you have to.

  • I can totally relate to this. I do this all the time. Especially as a parent of a young child...lol.

  • I think both me and my wife have it. We are in our early 30s :P

  • I have also been this way my whole life, but as I get older it gets worse! LOL. SO SO true!

  • Oh my goodness! This sounds like my life! Hahahaha!

  • hello? Move to a one-room flat!

  • all bills paid F234567s!

  • HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!! So very true!!!!!!!!!

  • Why is this called "age activated" ADD? The video made me laugh so much. I've been like this my whole life! :)

  • 'way too funny

  • OMG, I so totally do this at 46, kinda cracked me up!

  • i swear that's been happening to me for years - and i didn't think i'd even reached.... oooh what's the ad on tele? it could be... ah yes, the music reminds me of.... now what was it? ;)

  • thats my grandpa :) haa

  • Al that thinking makes you tired. Ha, ha! :D

  • would you mind captioning your video to be inclusive of our deaf brothers and sisters? thank you, blessings~

  • @wellspringoflove I've added some captions. I did this by downloading the automatic caption track and fixing its mistakes. (Of which there were many. I hope this is because it doesn't cope well with English accents and background music - otherwise it's worse than useless.) I haven't altered the timing. So the words are all there, but I don't know if it flows very well. Let me know what you think.

  • @borehamwoodcc Thanks for adding the captions - it truly helps!

  • @borehamwoodcc Thanks so much for captioning this! I laughed to the point of tears when I watched this for the first time!

  • @borehamwoodcc

Thank you! I saw this video before but it didn't have captions and the audio-captions are worse than worthless. SO YOUR captions are lovely! THANK YOU!

  • @wellspringoflove She intended to add captioning for our deaf brothers but decided to wash her car first.

  • Jeez, is it a bad sign that I am like this... and I'm only 21? Haha

  • @lyerlyreddwarf Lol! I'm in my early 20's and I think I have this sometimes too! XD

  • This is so true it is happening to me lately....tfs

  • It's the Age of Distraction! But I'm pretty good at multi-tasking. Things get done - eventually. :-)

  • @Marzipancat actually you're not good at " multi-tasking" that's been proven. no one can do it efficiently. I know and now comes the part where you'll "type" me.... that you can do it.

  • if you give a mouse a cookie.... feel like I'm reading that book...

  • That is so true, and it's not called anything. Geezzzzzzzzzeeeeee, us women ave so much on our mind it's so darn easy to do. Thanks for posting, that was too cool. Hey! I may grow older, but never grow up! That's how you stay young and still hot! :) Peace be with you

  • She's a Britt....

  • Organisation or what - I think its called free-flow - Nice little film :-)

  • I'm here again after having seen this ages ago! I'm "livin' the life"!!!

  • ...this is a disorder? LOL damn everything is a disorder now lol.

I just think just your avg procrastination gone horribly array!

example: I'm going to do my hw right after I come home. They come home and their fave tv show is on. So they'll say I'll do my hw after tv. The tv. show ends up being longer then expected and it's dinner time. Oh I guess I'll do my hw after dinner. Dinner guest arrives. Now it's 10pm I guess I'll do my hw tomorrow morning cuz I'm tired....etc. etc. etc.

  • I have it too, but I'm doing better than she is. I have a new chant: "Focus. Focus! Focus."

  • OMG This is soooo me lol

  • Brilliant. I relate to this totally.

Add my wonderful husband, our five kids and the family pets too. Mercy, it's a wonder I get anything done. :)

  • This is brilliant! :) I can totally relate to this video. Add five kids, a husband and the dog to the mix, too. No wonder I never get anything done.

  • Would be laughing my arse off...... except I forgot where I left it!

  • this is so true, thanks for posting this.

  • The first thing my husband said was, "OMG that is you!!!!"

  • I can't remember how I got to this video...Humpf!

  • It's so nice to know I'm not the only one with this affliction..this was hillarious...loved it!

  • I can relate!! This is right on! But it has nothing to do with age. I've been this way all my life...I just found out what it's called! LOL. And my mom is the same way! Never could figure out why her desk was such a mess...but mine is identical...and so is the rest of my house. The lady in the video has a nice, neat house! How'd she pull that off?

  • The Coke caused the memory loss!

  • This is totally me!

  • I love this -- it could've been me. Oh, while I was responding to this, I notice the hummingbird feeder is empty... Lynn

  • I love this -- it could've been me. Oh, while I was responding to this, I notice the hummingbird feeder is empty...

  • Oh my gosh...I loved it!

  • OMG. Where did I leave those?

  • "A woman's work is never done" Heeheehee

  • The thing I find interesting about this video is .... ? I'm sorry, what was the question? Are you still there? Hum I guess they hung up ... how do I get out of this little box?

  • Oh my god...

This is me in a nutshell... Except I had it all my life.

  • It'd be funny if it wasn't so true!

  • I suspect I'm ADD. Over the years I've been diagnosed with, depression/anxiety but always suspected there's more to it. I've been researching it lately, even done a self test, and now having watched this vid, I'm more convinced than ever.

  • I think Slippy is going through this now and Georgie will be reaching this level soon. Fallon will never get it because he smokes and Alex does care but Mark is worried because Chris is next to him and is probably infected ... oh well the World ends soon. Enjoy your brain while it's stilling sputting along.

  • What the hell was I doing, anyway?

  • I swear this is exactly how I lose my cup of coffee everyday at work!

  • Oh my f-cking GOD that is so totally my mom!!! Drives me nuts!!! Women are crazy.

  • LOL splendid!

  • I think I already have this at 16!! lmfao :P

  • Ah, so it's not just me? I thought...well, you know.

  • jajajajaaj shit that's me o man jajajajaj

  • I relate to this very well!

  • All too familiar I regret to say.

  • HAY I THINK I ALREADY HAVE THIS SYNDROME AT AGE 44......LOL! THANKS TO ZANAX I'LL MAKE IT THROUGH THE DAY.

  • Lol! This is sooooooo me everyday! And to think that my friends call me organized. They must have double age activated ADD!

  • So-o-o-o true ... !!!

  • HaHa!! I do have ADD and this is me nearly all the time! Frustrating as hell, but now...I don't feel so all alone in my craziness. Since I laughed at this, I'll probably be laughing at myself next time I pull an "AAADD" stunt! Much better than getting angry at myself. Thanks for this - I needed it!!!

  • hahaha! that's me sometimes! :))) but not that exaggerated.

  • This is so TRUE!!!! Thanks for posting!!!

  • This is so funny and oh so true. This is me all over, constantly looking for things, especially the car keys, and getting sidetracked and forgetting what I went into a room for. Love this.

  • I've become so forgetful I have to make lists. But I tend to write them on envelopes or old receipts or other bits of paper. And then I can never find them.

  • This happens to me quite often. Usually it is the iPhone, but going somewhere in the house and not being able to remember why, when I get there or remembering that I need to purchase something and by the time I open my 'notes' program on the iPhone I have already forgotten what I was going to get. Maybe I should keep a recorder program ready at all times. How about looking for glasses on the way out ignite house and finding you are wearing them. I think I did that once. Groan! (:-:|D)

    Ma

  • What a great video, even more enjoyable knowing that my Auntie Shelia is the narrator. Wonderful work and a big hug for Auntie Shelia

  • I'm sorry but this is normal life for anyone who is free to chose what they do with their day. Its good and normal not bad - there is always something to do you just have to chose. I don't want to think I'm crazy for living a stream of consciousness life .....Happiness is the test

  • lol, i'm supposed to be working on art, but I checked email first and saw a link to facebook, and was on there, where i planned to message a friend about something but saw that they posted this to their page so I watched it, and now i don't remember what i was going to message them about or what I was going to draw.

pretty much my dailly life right there. lol

  • That's me

  • I love it...

  • sounds like we all have it!

  • rofl. ... but i shouldn't be laughing because that's me.

  • funny, although I'm not quite that bad....YET!

  • OK...this isn't even funny...this is my life, every day! Isn't it like this for everyone else?

  • been here done this....

  • Stop, please stop.

  • I came on the computer to order milk and ended up here

  • Hey! It's the story of my life!!!

  • This seems normal, doesn't everyone do the same things. It keeps us busy all day.

  • Sounds like me!

  • someone has been peering over my shoulder; need to go put the warm coke in the fridge and find my car keys now!

  • wow a movie about the story of my life....

one solution is to walk backwards into the room you just left in hopes that some form of deja vu will help you to remember what it is you were going to do.

  • @txgeekygirl You're right! That actually works for me more often than not - it's like going back in time I guess!*-)

  • Ya that was a great umm uncle of mine who had recently umm needed to buy coke at the store that's what I umm did last summer at my house umm needs cleaning

  • Who said this is age-related? It sounds just like some people I know...

  • haha very funny

  • LOL--- SOOO TRUEN! IS DRIVING ME NUTS THIS AGE ACTIVATED ADHD!! LOLOLOLLL!!!

  • Oh, this is sweet, had to show it to my kin, who I think were conspiring to commit me for some kind of Dementia...I'm NORMAL, I'm even FUNNY after you watch this..

What was the famous song line: " with a spoonful of sugar, makes the medicine go down.." So, Laugh, my age rendered Global conditioned humans, just laugh and you may discover where you left all your stuff..

  • i thought we all do that! LOLOL

  • Yep - life as we know it - excellent!

  • How is this age related? I've been like that all my life.

  • How is this age related? I've been like that all my life.

  • Except for your lovely British accent, I could be you! Combine this with ChemoBrain (real brain change from chemotherapy or just the trauma of getting cancer), and

I'm a real case. Starting Focalin, and it's helping--at least now I KNOW when I'm doing this. SOMETIMES I can stop and retrace my winding trail. Thanks for this, all of you.

  • I'm with you, sister. I'm in the middle of cleaning, paying bills, reading and answering e-mails, planning my day (and meals) tomorrow, and now, watching and replying to you. I call it "CRS: ("Can't Remember Shi&"), which has now morphed into CRAFT (Can't Remember A Fu%#king Thing).

  • @Anet99 hahahahhhaha craft! yup!

  • welcome to my world... where ever that is!!

  • is it supposed to be funny? or something real?

using a diary saves those dilemas I think.

    ---

you are invited to my channel

    regards from Israel :)

  • Funny documentary style. But it's not AAADD, it's called Proximity Prioritizatiin Syndrome: that which is closest to you gets your immediate attention. It is a direct result of having children. There is no cure. It is a chronic condition that can be supported by diet, exercise and detailed list making. Until the dog eats the list or your youngest uses it for toilet paper and you are back where you started. Caution: in-laws exacerbate this condition.

  • @lhorseportrait i know whatcha talkin bout!

  • @lhorseportrait I don't have children but can relate completely.

  • I'm turning 30 soon and i do that ALL the time!!!!!

  • I am 71, the time is 11 AM; at 8AM I started today with a list (something I keep promising myself to do so I don't end up as this poor woman). So I have 2 of 3 tasks each 1/8 of the way done; 2 important cards I have not even started on (one sympathy and one b-day); and 2 phone calls to people I'm inviting over for their choice of this Thursday or Friday).

What I have done is also impressive: I have accepted a request from a new friend on Facebook; I have reset passwords, etc.

  • That is definitely me. Never seem to get anything accomplished..Is there a cure??

  • @golfgranny58 you are too funny! laughing at your response to niceworkmicrosoft heart sign :)

  • I've been this way all my life. This was hilarious!

  • Funny, seems like we have all been there and done that!!

  • Memento?

  • Spot on!

  • It's nice to know I am not alone!

  • is it bad if i am only 29 and most of my days are like this?? lmao!!

  • Here's your problem. You're drinking Diet Coke and coffee! If you were drinking margaritas, I guarantee you would finish what you had started.

  • Rita Wilson sent me here, God bless her <3

  • @niceworkmicrosoft I absolutely hate that little sign. I know it's supposed to be a heart, but nothing could be further from what it actually looks like. It's like a little tiny weinee with the sac hanging below. :o(

  • loved sharing with friends in my same age group! (62)

  • I call this "getting squirreled" and this DOES describe me!!!!!!!

  • Funny, but true. This video validates my current existence. The funny thing is, that how I began watching this is because I started out doing homework, I checked email, lead to facebook, clicked on this link, wanted to comment but forced to set up YouTube account, then forced to set up Google account, got thirsty, got distracted in kitchen by washing a few (but not completing dishes) and then FINALLY made this post. Case-and-point made!

    - Thanks for your video I hope you have more.

    ;-)

  • @melissayoung713: that is a hysterical comment!

  • OMG that's me!!! (sent by k&h)

  • Hi everyone who was sent here by Kathie and Hoda. Thanks for watching and thanks for your comments.

Steve Pemberton (director of this video)

  • I do not think you have to be old to have this disorder. Very funny.

  • good one! ahahahaha!
