I soooo recognise that.........but I like to think that it's because I'm not actually focusing enough whilst I do things. When I do pay full attention to what I'm doing and where I'm putting things like keys - hey presto, I remember where they are - for now anyway!
Part 3 the sofa out to look behind it and again heard the keys jingle. I picked up the coat again to go through the pockets again and noticed the coat feeling heavy. And there they were, riding in the hood of my coat. I didn't know if I should laugh or cry so I did both. Life is such an adventure, isn't it? Don't tell my kids. The threaten to put me in a home already although it is done in jest. Some days I think I need to be there. LOL
Part 2 I dug through my purse thinking that maybe I didn't already have them out but not there. I got on my hands and knees to see if they had fallen off the sofa and slip under but not. I was getting hot crawling around with my coat on and it wasn't staying up on me right anyway so took off the coat and dropped it down on the sofa and heard keys jingle so picked up my coat and went through the pockets. Went through the sofa cushions again. No! I then picked up my coat again so I could pull
To the lady who is looking for her keys........look in the hood of your coat. I was ready to go out and forgot to set the alarm system. I put my coat down on the end of the sofa and laid my keys on it while I went over to the alarm box. When I came back I picked up my coat and put it on and then looked for my keys. They were gone. I searched through the sofa cushions and pillows and they weren't there so I walked back into the dining room by the alarm box, not there. I searched through my purse

No, this is not just age-related; it could be but it is a symptom of constant distraction of internet and cellphone checking and texting; our current way of living promotes this flitting about which is called multitasking, but which is really lack of focus and short attention spans.
Priceless. I love how it is so simply done. Just a "slice of life" story that we can all relate to. Understated hilarity. Like slapstick in slow motion. Good work.
Absolutely and positively, mavelously done, that is all me right there, I am starting to get that way, but at least I get my bills paid, I don't use a check book, I pay cash, but yeah, one thing leads to another and boom.

I suspect I'm ADD. Over the years I've been diagnosed with, depression/anxiety but always suspected there's more to it. I've been researching it lately, even done a self test, and now having watched this vid, I'm more convinced than ever.
I think Slippy is going through this now and Georgie will be reaching this level soon. Fallon will never get it because he smokes and Alex does care but Mark is worried because Chris is next to him and is probably infected ... oh well the World ends soon. Enjoy your brain while it's stilling sputting along.
HaHa!! I do have ADD and this is me nearly all the time! Frustrating as hell, but now...I don't feel so all alone in my craziness. Since I laughed at this, I'll probably be laughing at myself next time I pull an "AAADD" stunt! Much better than getting angry at myself. Thanks for this - I needed it!!!
This is so funny and oh so true. This is me all over, constantly looking for things, especially the car keys, and getting sidetracked and forgetting what I went into a room for. Love this.
I've become so forgetful I have to make lists. But I tend to write them on envelopes or old receipts or other bits of paper. And then I can never find them.
I've become so forgetful I have to make lists. But I tend to write them on envelopes or old receipts or other bits of paper. And then I can never find them.
This happens to me quite often. Usually it is the iPhone, but going somewhere in the house and not being able to remember why, when I get there or remembering that I need to purchase something and by the time I open my 'notes' program on the iPhone I have already forgotten what I was going to get. Maybe I should keep a recorder program ready at all times. How about looking for glasses on the way out ignite house and finding you are wearing them. I think I did that once. Groan! (:-:|D)
I'm sorry but this is normal life for anyone who is free to chose what they do with their day. Its good and normal not bad - there is always something to do you just have to chose. I don't want to think I'm crazy for living a stream of consciousness life .....Happiness is the test
lol, i'm supposed to be working on art, but I checked email first and saw a link to facebook, and was on there, where i planned to message a friend about something but saw that they posted this to their page so I watched it, and now i don't remember what i was going to message them about or what I was going to draw.
one solution is to walk backwards into the room you just left in hopes that some form of deja vu will help you to remember what it is you were going to do.
Ya that was a great umm uncle of mine who had recently umm needed to buy coke at the store that's what I umm did last summer at my house umm needs cleaning
Oh, this is sweet, had to show it to my kin, who I think were conspiring to commit me for some kind of Dementia...I'm NORMAL, I'm even FUNNY after you watch this..
What was the famous song line: " with a spoonful of sugar, makes the medicine go down.." So, Laugh, my age rendered Global conditioned humans, just laugh and you may discover where you left all your stuff..
Except for your lovely British accent, I could be you! Combine this with ChemoBrain (real brain change from chemotherapy or just the trauma of getting cancer), and
I'm a real case. Starting Focalin, and it's helping--at least now I KNOW when I'm doing this. SOMETIMES I can stop and retrace my winding trail. Thanks for this, all of you.
I'm with you, sister. I'm in the middle of cleaning, paying bills, reading and answering e-mails, planning my day (and meals) tomorrow, and now, watching and replying to you. I call it "CRS: ("Can't Remember Shi&"), which has now morphed into CRAFT (Can't Remember A Fu%#king Thing).
Funny documentary style. But it's not AAADD, it's called Proximity Prioritizatiin Syndrome: that which is closest to you gets your immediate attention. It is a direct result of having children. There is no cure. It is a chronic condition that can be supported by diet, exercise and detailed list making. Until the dog eats the list or your youngest uses it for toilet paper and you are back where you started. Caution: in-laws exacerbate this condition.
I am 71, the time is 11 AM; at 8AM I started today with a list (something I keep promising myself to do so I don't end up as this poor woman). So I have 2 of 3 tasks each 1/8 of the way done; 2 important cards I have not even started on (one sympathy and one b-day); and 2 phone calls to people I'm inviting over for their choice of this Thursday or Friday).
What I have done is also impressive: I have accepted a request from a new friend on Facebook; I have reset passwords, etc.
@niceworkmicrosoft I absolutely hate that little sign. I know it's supposed to be a heart, but nothing could be further from what it actually looks like. It's like a little tiny weinee with the sac hanging below. :o(
Funny, but true. This video validates my current existence. The funny thing is, that how I began watching this is because I started out doing homework, I checked email, lead to facebook, clicked on this link, wanted to comment but forced to set up YouTube account, then forced to set up Google account, got thirsty, got distracted in kitchen by washing a few (but not completing dishes) and then FINALLY made this post. Case-and-point made!
I soooo recognise that.........but I like to think that it's because I'm not actually focusing enough whilst I do things. When I do pay full attention to what I'm doing and where I'm putting things like keys - hey presto, I remember where they are - for now anyway!

I don't want to think I'm crazy for living a stream of consciousness life .....Happiness is the test

one solution is to walk backwards into the room you just left in hopes that some form of deja vu will help you to remember what it is you were going to do.

- Thanks for your video I hope you have more.
