Gohar is a very good guitarist, his solos are brilliant. Faraz is a different guitarist but his solos doesnot have soul in them. Panchi's solo was brilliant, ujalon mein's solo was pathetic. BTW the best guitarist of Pakistan is nabeel.

dont get me wrong, Faraz has got AWESOME skills. if only there had been more feel in this composition like his other works that ive heard, he couldve aced the competition.
what's missing is the body language! the best musicians put their whole being, including their bodies, into the playing. another problem i have with cats like this is their tone: shades of malmsteen, satriani, vai, but without the stratospheric tones that helped those players rise to prominence. i like the composition here, i must say, however
But I honestly feel that he deserves some better equipment. A simple Jackson DKMG doesn't do justice to his talent. He SHOULD claim for an endorsement by Jackson. Get a signature model made for him. If a pathetic guitarist like GOHAR can get an endorsement by Gibson, I don't see ANY reason why Faraz can't.

Faraz Anwar is definitely one of the finest guitarists we have in the country. The one thing people tend to forget is music is not a competition. Adnan Afaq has his own place no one is better than the other all the talented good players are amazing at what they do and pakistan is full of talent you just can't come up and say oh he is the no he is the best they all are fantastic musicians that work hard to create good music.

He was partially self taught, he had a teacher for quite but also relied on Paul Gilbert guitar lessons, its amazing to develop this much in only twelve years, your looking at the future generation fo guitarists
Extremely Talented, and if i am not wrong i believe he was self taught. very hard to achieve this kind of mature musicality and technical dexterity when you are on your own doing every thing by yourself like sequencing ,producing , playing etc and especially do this for a living. God bless him.
He was not self taught actually. He took lessons from another talented guitarist from Karachi, Pakistan. Adnan Afaq is his name. Adnan is a great player himself but Faraz turned out to be far far better. The only other guitarist who is rated better than Faraz in the entire country is Aamir Zaki but he does mostly blues but he has his own class.

I have emailed those who are massively over to request an editted version, but I would perhaps consider it a little petty to disqualify on this basis now. The language barrier is proving a massive problem as some contestants are not fully undertsanding the formats we need."
"In reality, we have a set amount of time at the live show, so come then it must be under 5 minutes, so hopefuly people will be working to get this time limit down"

Its not really that bad. We didnt had much time to upload the 5 min version. I did it in a rush because we were getting emails from Guitar Idol to upload a shorter version of the track.
I do the editing. He sends me the DVD (I live in Lahore) and then i edit and upload it.

these people who keep complaining this is fake or not live are fucking douches...
faraz has about 400 votes, and is in 2nd place of guitar idol. highest votes are something 400.. which is pretty amazing. he is making it to the finals.
this cannot be fake.. that part must be out of sync because of desi recording management or just that the backing track faraz recorded had a harmonious lead
please notice Faraz Anwar has not played it live. which is the requirement for the Guitar idol entry. this is cheating from the start! check the music than his finger's movement after 8:34.... playing ability is good. but in all his instrumentals there is no continuation. the chorus, mid-solos e.t.c keep on changing, as if he is playing 7 different instrumentals in one go.
It is pretty much live. 8:34 is not the start even for one sec. you say its not live. He accidentally played a wrong note which proves pretty much that its live :)
Secondly you just screwed the whole Progressive Rock-Metal genre by saying "7 different instrumentals". I would recommend you SHADOW GALLERY band. Listen to this band to see massive composition changes in one song.
simply u r not accepting the reality. any one can prove by two reasons.
1- after 8:34 the melody was going straight but his fingers were searching for notes!!!! and it is till the end. approx 2 mints!!!
2- the world knows progressive music.. and continuation is some thing that is common in all genres. it is not found in Faraz anwar. may be he don't have inborn talent to make instrumentals. however his songs are much better than his instrumentals. check out my video response. may convince u!!!
yeah.. i agree. even heard of dream theater? faraz composes like dream theater.. like their EP's or something, for example A CHANGE OF SEASONS
and the fact that there is no "continuation" is simply a matter of choice, i think the music is fucking epic when its dynamic.. just like dream theater.. some people like this type of music.

@AliArsalan89 man....u dont know a shit 'bout the scene in india.in india,we've got so many bands in every part ov the country...ur country doesnt have ny good english bands,while in india..we got bands like scribe,demonic resurrection,undying inc opening 4 international bands like meshuggah,textures,lamb of god etc.btw,u can check these above bands on youtube or myspace.india has gr8 jazz guitarists n guitarists like faraz anwar r present in almost all the power n thrash metal bands in india:P

Its not really that bad. We didnt had much time to upload the 5 min version. I did it in a rush because we were getting emails from Guitar Idol to upload a shorter version of the track.
I do the editing. He sends me the DVD (I live in Lahore) and then i edit and upload it.

However, for the Final Online Heat your song must be no longer than approx 5 minutes as this will be the one you play live should you be chosen. This is due to the time constraints of the show

please notice Faraz Anwar has not played it live. which is the requirement for the Guitar idol entry. this is cheating from the start! check the music than his finger's movement after 8:34.... playing ability is good. but in all his instrumentals there is no continuation. the chorus, mid-solos e.t.c keep on changing, as if he is playing 7 different instrumentals in one go.

It is pretty much live. 8:34 is not the start even for one sec. you say its not live. He accidentally played a wrong note which proves pretty much that its live :)
Secondly you just screwed the whole Progressive Rock-Metal genre by saying "7 different instrumentals". I would recommend you SHADOW GALLERY band. Listen to this band to see massive composition changes in one song.

simply u r not accepting the reality. any one can prove by two reasons.
1- after 8:34 the melody was going straight but his fingers were searching for notes!!!! and it is till the end. approx 2 mints!!!
2- the world knows progressive music.. and continuation is some thing that is common in all genres. it is not found in Faraz anwar. may be he don't have inborn talent to make instrumentals. however his songs are much better than his instrumentals. check out my video response. may convince u!!!

yeah.. i agree. even heard of dream theater? faraz composes like dream theater.. like their EP's or something, for example A CHANGE OF SEASONS
and the fact that there is no "continuation" is simply a matter of choice, i think the music is fucking epic when its dynamic.. just like dream theater.. some people like this type of music.
