a bluetooth is 2way communicating device and usually other bt devices has 10Mtr or so range so will it work because we can transmit upto 1000Mtr after this hack but the other device like ur cellphone will still emit upto 10Mtrs so u have to be within 10Mtr range for most purposes . yes we can yet use it for just transmitting purposes where no acknowledgement is required from other distances using its long range .
@samvideonet that's wrong. I send a inquiry request to a phone 700 metres away, and it responds with its OUI number, and I receive that OUI number. With a 1metre dish attached to my bluetooth dongle its like i'm 690 metres closer to the phone, it doesn't matter that the phone has a 10 metre range.
@timrusti99 . . . . yes u are right sir . . i was bit occupied by some thoughts while responding to you which i realised later . . . :-) sorry for that mishap . . . and thanks for great hack i had mine ready too for some backtracking ;-) purposes
Nice tutorial ! Just wondering what Bluetooth dongle you are using. Been searching for a CSR Bluecore4 chipset with external or flash memory, so it can get a custom firmware update. Is your one branded?
Hi, this unbranded dongle has the BlueCore4-ROM chipset, so no use for you, sorry. Try and get hold of a D-Link DBT-120 in orange & black, they have the CSR BlueCore4-Ext inside and are reprogrammable.

@timrustige It would help the three or four of us who actually read the video description if you posted the link to it in there.
