What a nice surprise to find this rare clip, which looks to be from about 1969 or '70 (the song "Spinning Wheel" hit in 1969 for Blood, Sweat, and Tears). The dance moves were very contemporary and most likely choreographed by Andy's choreographer. The Osmonds had grown up dancing on Andy's show, and it's hard not to be amused by comments criticizing their dancing. Also, if this is from 1969, Donny would've been about 12, Jay 14, Merrill 16, Wayne 18, Alan 20.
I've been a fan for years, and yet had never seen this clip. Thanks so much for posting it! I thought it was adorable, and LOVED the dancing. Yes, someof the moves are now outdated, but for back then, it was current. They did a terrific job at it.
So fun to watch, and as others have mentioned, I'd MUCH rather see this than some of the vulgar stuff passed off as entertainment today. Even then, the Osmonds ROCKED!
Guess what some of you fail to realize is that is that the youngest (Donny) was at most 9 or 10 in this clip. Where as the others were in their teens or older. @sierria64 and I can see just by your comment that you would think that what is now dancing is great. Well personally i really cant stand the choreography of the so called stars of today.
@sierria64 You were dead on in your assessment of the choreography, this clip from more than forty years ago shows how much "dancing" has evolved. If only we had a show where celebrities or "stars" as they are sometimes known danced and were judged on their performances, surely none of these boys would win, particularly not that youngest boy. Thanks for your comments, we're lucky to have someone like you to tell us what "sucks."
@sierra64-that is how it was back then. It was a slightly more gentle time. I suppose you like the gyrations of the half naked stars like Beyonce and Brittany?

Gosh.....give them a break about the dancing, they weren't responsible for the choreography. They did as they were told to do each week.

Personally wish some of the current sings would learn some decent moves. Cant stand the moves they do today. And they need to learn how to dress.
