Should I buy the DVD? I have seen this movie. Long back when I was 7 though. Even went to see a play which was being performed near my place(around the same age). I'm 21 now. One major question are the DVD's of this only russian audio or english audio as well? Help me make up my mind. please.

Trailers back then were freaking long and usually did give the plot away. Plus, since this is a musical, they obviously had to cater that "All of your favorites are here!".

this has been my favourite musical for as long as i can remember, and i'm certain i first saw it on tv in the early 70's. it works on every level, being funny and sad, loving and tragic. in electricity class at high school, in 1980 or so, the day after this was the big Sunday Night Movie ( we still had them back then ), my whole class of Australian teenagers started singing "iff i were a rich man", after someone had mentioned they had seen it. and for the record, there was'nt a jew among us.

I am going up for a part in my school musical as the Russian soldier. Thing is there are 2 parts for soldiers, one that sings and one that doesn't...I think the one that doesn't sing is the one with more lines but surely I have it backwards! I really don't want to sing because my singing voice is just...well you get it,but I really want this part so I am researching as much as I can.I can only find one soldier part,I haven't actually seen the film but is there 2 and which sings?

Topol is the name of the actor who played Tevye. It's actually his last name, but that's what he used for the film.

Just saw it in Dallas... Topol hasn't aged a day. And his performance has only gotten better!
