  • Rob is one of the finest performers on the scene right now, a singer and songwriter whom I never think of as a singer-songwriter. Why he's not more well known is a mystery. Completely devoid of the narcissism and gloopy vocals so prevalent in what passes for singer-songwriters these days, he's a blessing. His tribute to Phillips here is forthright and dignified, skillful and undadorned. Keep watching the man from Chicago.
