  • Mine took four weeks from the company..I like it so far but I just got it.

  • And, I forgot to mention, GREAT bu rendition of "You tell me your dream..."

  • @MrJnobianchi hmmmm- I don't know that song- I'll have to look it up. I thought I made up this chord progression and I called it "Dave's Test drive in C". I still like the firefly too!

  • @UkesterBrown Wow - I could have sworn, but now that you mention it, it is different. Well - if you want to try it, I'll send you a video.

  • REally good review, Dave. Yes, I have that accumulated damping pad myself. It works like a charm.

  • Excellent review sir, glad you're enjoying it. I ordered a Firefly myself about three weeks back, looking forward to finally getting my hands on one.

  • Looks like a lot of fun. Thanks for the look-see.

  • @VermontUkulele I'm enjoying this banjo uke a lot!

  • Looks mighty fine!

  • Would you say it was a a worthy purchase?

  • @Beafteck89 It was a worthy purchase for me. Also, if you want a uke or in this case a banjo uke you can carry anywhere I would recommend it. I have found the Fluke Flea Family to be nearly indestructible as far as car heat and weather was concerned.

  • you make that thing sound great! i have played one of those before. very cool little uke.

  • Nice looking little banjolele.

  • Thanks for the review, Dave. That will be my next uke purchase. "Damping pad"! I love it!

  • Great video....thanks. I was wondering what these fireflies sounded like-very nice. I like the dark frets on my fluke--it's nice to just reach out and feel where the chords are.

  • @StUkulele Playing sightless is good exercise for sure. My wife taught piano for quite a few years and those kids were not allowed to look at the keyboard. If they tried to during lessons she'd put a paper over their hands so they couldn't see them.

  • @UkesterBrown That's great. I'm convinced reaching out and "feeling" the music w/o looking--even just time to time- encourages a different state of listening too... happy strumming!

  • The problem i have with the plastic fretboard is that after a couple of years, the plastic frets on my flea were breaking down and creating notches under the strings. Of course this started creating string buzz. It cost me $90 plus UPS freight to get the rosewood fretboard upgrade. (in fact, just got it back from Magic Fluke today) If you want fret longevity, invest in the rosewood board. You won't regret it.

  • @milo14564 That's interesting about your fretboard. I have a flea that I play about 15 minutes a day at least 4 days a week (My work uke) and have for about 2 1/2 years. It was owned by 2 others before me. That one has no fretboard wear problem. I only use nylon strings. I know the wound strings would chew them up.

  • Great job, and nice playing. Nice sounding Banjo ukulele.

  • I'll bet that volume control pad cost more than the ukulele HA HA!! Great job as always.

  • @G3RIVER HaHa- the tool shed that's bought and paid for!

  • Excellent!!!

  • so nicely done! (I prefer wood fretboards -- I wonder if I could make my own... but one of the happiest day of my wife's life was when I sold my own banjo uke; her happy distance is not 7 feet but 7 miles) Thanks.

  • Thanks for the review, Dave. It's a great little instrument....Bill

  • You need to work on that accumulated personal resonance board. :P Nice job with the review. Is the body plastic?

  • @UKISOCIETY Tim at Ukeeku has a good review of this. He say's it is some type of laminate.

  • Nice to see you doing a Banjolele video!!

  • @Beafteck89 Maybe more to come?...
