In the movie the only people that got infected were the ones that drank the water from the same lake. The lake had biochemical crap in it, or what have you, and that's why they got infected and basically went crazy. That is why it wasn't air born and that is why some people got infected faster than others. It all relied on immune systems and what not. Technically, it wasn't a zombie movie. It was literally people going crazy from what the government wanted to use as a biochemical weapon.

The Crazies didn't strike me as a true zombie movie. Still enjoyable though. You want to see actual zombies use weapons and strategy, play Siren for the PS2. They howl for others when one spots you, they have rifles, they can't die, and you're trapped on an island with them during a THUNDERSTORM OF BLOOD. The cast is unbelievably average. A cop with a revolver and no extra bullets, a school teacher, a kid, a retired gimpy hunter and a blind girl. No McGuyvers.

I was watching some Q. Tarantino interview and he was talking about some classic zombie director who got pissed whenever somebody called a movie a zombie movie if it didn't involve the UNDEAD. Zombieland and this movie would have pissed that guy off and in his Italian accent he would have said "No! No! Zombie, no! The are eh, infectido pee-a-pol." Bam. Both my mum were like "Oops, now he's infected!" during the open-wound scene. Totally seemed like faulty writing... And what was with Becca? She was in the room with Judy, so she must have had a high temp too. So was Becca pregnant or sick or something, or was she infected? They never clarified, they just killed her off.

Ok first of all, they aren't zombies. They're people who got infected by some virus and went all mad(not necessarily zombies) although I have to say that it kinda has this whole zombie feeling(but not really Zombies)

I more enjoyed how they made the military more of a threat to the then the 'zombies'. It was more realistic in the sense that if the army did do a lock down on a small town, this is how they would handle it as the problem escalates. The way all the cars were wheel clamped is an effective (and believably) way of narrowing down the escape routes out of town. Great movie

If you play the game Siren, it is a zombie game on an island, where the zombies are smart enough to open doors, weild guns and even call each other to hunt you down in a pack... Yes, there are zombie snipers. Oh, and did I mention that in this game, no matter what weapon you have, these zombies cannot die. They can only be beaten into submission for a few minutes. By the way, there's a rainstorm that is flooding the island... and the rain is blood that will turn you into a zombie if ingested!!!!

@QuatermassMan I saw 28 Days Later about a day ago for the first time and I need to ask, why is it so good? When I saw it I thought there was nothing I hadn't seen before and it was kind of a ripoff of The Walking Dead comic, it had bad diolugue and bad quality zombie action. All it had was some nice shots of nature and of London (shame the quality was so bad) and the fact that it was the first zombie movie with fast zombies.

I understand it had a low budget, but still...

this review is ridiculous. first of all they are not zombies because the basic zombie characteristics created from the legend George A. Romero and many others after him, were that they get infected by a bite wound or DNA transfusion of some kind and then they die and get the hell back up and the only way to kill them is a shot to the head. I felt it was very original from the characteristics of the crazies to the claustrophobic vibe of the town.

Yes, David should have been infected. With the detail and attention put into that scene in particular as the crazy woman's blood is gushing all over him and his open wound, I think we're meant to assume he WAS infected and we just weren't privy to his turning.

Second - No, these were not zombies. They weren't reanimated corpses, they were infected with a disease or mental illness that drove them to a paranoia and violence-bound state. Giving a good reason for the fevers.
