Wow, this is a great robot! You truly are a master with Legos! One question though. How did you get power to the wheels? You couldn't of had a motor down there, because then the wire would get tangled up. Did you have a gear train that went down there?
Its spinning and using the Ultrasonic sensor as a sonar device. The US detects how far things are from the robot, so by spinning it you can program a robot that is aware of its surroundings (and thus not bump into things)
