  • Have they even said when THD goes live?

  • @RiffyDevine Just released today

  • Is that controller even plugged into the tablet? If not, it's plugged into the host machine. Meaning since we can't use the mouse properly (as others have stated) then unless you control the game directly on the host machine with a controller, you can't do this at all.

  • Nice Demo, useless though until we get better bandwiths. Connecting to your own pc also requires a good bandwith on the client side...so dont expect to be in a coffeeshop browsing your computer with full fidelity...in the meantime ...we have VMware, etc etc

  • Can I connect the transformer prime to my pc that uses an AMD graphics card or is there an arbitrary limit in place?

  • Hey nvidia, what's the ETA on splash-top THD?

  • Some thoughts:

    1) He is using a 360 controller instead of the mouse and keyboard. Anyone who has used Splashtop knows that trying to play anything with this results in a completely useless experience with the mouse.

    2) At one point when trying to navigate the menu you see the cursor move on its own, probably being controlled by the host machine because splashtop again fails at cursor control in games. They need to fix their input controls, I hope THD brings that.

  • @kingzeta Exactly my toughs apart from the cursor.

You can move the mouse in game just fine, but when it comes to rotating the in-game camera, it goes ballistic.

  • WHY didn't he choose to play the Ninja Tuna track? It's awesome!

  • Comment removed

  • ;___;

  • Sorry, didn't catch that, does it just work?

  • This is awesome!

  • Wendell the 30 yr.old rich guy that still lives in his moms basement (he admitted it in the last video)

  • Love NVIDIA. Always been a supporter and always been my choice for graphics. I can't see that ever changing. Keep up the great work guys. It's appreciated.

  • How in the world are they running an ethernet connection to the transformer prime? Does ICS support usb to ethernet adapters right out of the gate?

  • DAMN NVIDIA I BOUGHT A GTX 560TI LAST YEAR AND IM NEVER GOING TO BUY A NVIDIA PRODUCT UNTIL A CARD IN THE 700 SERIES RELEASES!

  • I used to like ATI - then i took Nvidia to the knee - it knocked some sense into me ;D GO NVIDIA!

  • SOPA IS GONE. GET OVER YOURSELVES. I would however like to see Nvidia graphics in WINDOWS tablets.

  • @HeroicHereticsHH3 Try search this title on youtube.

NVIDIA Press Conference @ CES 2012 - Windows 8 on Tegra 3 tablet

  • @HeroicHereticsHH3 Sopa is not gone its being Stalled for now to 19th January

  • Hey, hey dragon, lemme axe you a question.

  • The problem is why would i have my computer on and play it on my tablet...i get it ya its cool and you can play it on a small device but it would be better if i could actually bring it along that the whole point of a tablet right? bring it along on the bus and when youre on the go. it would be better if i could save it to the cloud and use it and download from the server would that be more useful.

  • @darnops Not only do tablets not have the rendering capabilities of a home PC, but they have a completely different CPU architecture than a home PC (ARM vs x86_x64). Something like Skyrim (or even notepad.exe) would have to be rewritten to work with an ARM CPU. That's why there is no way to simply run a .exe on a tablet right now.

  • @hylogibbon dude go check out project fiona by razor :) the tablet that can run PC games at max speed :D now thats really useful

  • Could the comments regarding SOPA etc take that shit elsewhere? Let's talk about the technology, cos it's pretty awesome!

  • @seeafish Yes, technology is awesome. But freedom/privacy is more awesome.

  • @hylogibbon Are you retarded did you not just see them say that they don't support SOPA

  • @SexxxxxyParty Are you retarded? Cause I never said anything about them supporting SOPA.

  • Maybe my knowledge is a little above the average user when it comes to these things, but why would you even need to use an nvidia tablet, nvidia gpu, nvidia sponsored app to do this? If you have any RDP client/app on a tablet regardless of gpu you CAN stream/play your games remotely without all these requirements, especially if you're on a lan or wireless N connection,l if you knew what you were doing you could set up a Xen VGA pass system and remote in more tablets and share resources of a box.

  • @NTGam1ng I'm not sure about this Splashtop program, but the RDP protocol is Windows-only, which I hate (I hate it because it works so much better than VNC).

  • @hylogibbon Even VNC could handle the same task, there are numerous internet cafes that run on a thin client system, if your host server was running Windows Server 2008 you could use RemoteFX and litterally share the resources of a single gpu, like a ATI6990 dual gpu or the nvidia equivalent, use a simple arm powered vnc only lan linux box or a tablet with a vnc app you could use a bluetooth keyboard/mouse and play just the same with multiple users at a time. This keynote is dumb

  • @hylogibbon Ran out of space, but there is VNC compression systems out there that you can use that will make even the most basic hardware render the video over wireless G connections and above

  • The irony of nvidia showing this... If this app worked very well, the need for faster cpu's/gpu's in tablets would be eliminated right? And nobody would buy over-the-top fast nvidia tegra's.

  • @0Tijmen0 except that the tegra3 IS doing hard work (obviously not as hard as the pc) transcoding the stream into 720p and pulling it with 60fps+...hence why you can only achieve that framerate with the THD version, while the Splashtop HD version only gets around 30fps.

  • I don't think you guys are seeing the BIG picture here and what this potentially means. If Splashtop releases this App on HDTVs. You can easily stream your PC on your HDTV and yeah I know most of you have your PC on your HDTV. I don't mean tech savy nerds and gamers. I mean for families. The TV in the living room streaming your PC. This opens up a lot of possibilities.

  • This is the least genuine-sounding press conference I've ever seen. Why can't they talk like normal people instead of visibly trying to push as many buzzwords and feature lists as possible?

  • I just wish I could get a keyboard dock for my Prime. Then I could play TF2 on the toilet.

  • I´d be interested in getting to know what bandwith would be needed to use Splashtop THD for gaming purposes and if it could be done over an Internet or mobile connection? Also i´d like to know if Splastop THD will be preinstalled on Tegra 3 devices ....

  • Hello I have the HD 5750 and i love playing skyrim on my setup, I just dont have the network speed to get considerable quality out of my Tab so im wondering, how do you do a wired connection?

  • deleted my comment, nice to see you not supporting sopa!

  • what tablet was that?

  • NVIDIA is the awesome....!!!

  • I'm wondering what is the intro song in this video??

  • now give me fallout 3 on a tablet, im not picky, id even go back to the ipad 2 if it worked.

  • @testdirver Hey why don't you just fire the government if you have a problem with it? Seriously, use those brain cells dude.

  • @testdirver NVIDIA does no support SOPA. visit our blog for more details. blogs nvidia com

  • @nvidia But you dont oppose it neither...

  • @TheMastaGlazy Do some research idiot, they stated that they oppose it.

  • @couer1911 I did research, this is what they say on their blog "NVIDIA wasn’t consulted by ESA in formulating their position on SOPA. Our position is this: we oppose piracy, as it hurts our game-developer partners. However, we do not support SOPA. We don’t believe it is the right solution to the problem. We remain committed to working to address this problem in a constructive and fair manner."

They arent choosing side's, they dont oppose it nor support it, so you're the idiot...

  • @nvidia Thank you for clearing up the misunderstanding. Sorry for the false accusation. For me, no matter how awesome a company and it's products are, I would never be able to support them if they approved censoring the internet. Thanks for being on the good guy side NVIDIA!

  • More gtx 600 less Tegra

  • For every 28 PC users, there are 5 Mac users ;-)

  • what if connecting it wirelessly? I'm not sure it'll be still real-time..

  • R.I.P. OnLive

  • oh HELL YEAH! BEEGEES!!!! Skyrim on a tablet!!??? FTW!!! perfect excuse to buy a tablet. SCREW SOPA! THEY'RE A BUNCH OF PANZIS. and BTW, Huang supports Steam. AMAZING

  • @obc993 Am I really the only saint in this world ? Whenever I get some money, I'll buy a gun and pull the trigger to the brain. Oh wait, that's obviously never gonna happen, since I'm spending all my money on the games, music, movies and programs I want.

    I'm sick of this world.

  • this is a reason why I want a Nvidia Tegra 3 Tablet :D

  • When is the next GeForce LAN?

  • pretty neat .. but i don't see the point..

  • This Video Sucks...

  • 1st,2nd and 3th...

  • Ever Thing Just Works,,, Sometimes All You Can Do Is Just Look At It...

  • Screw that i'm not giving nvidia any damn cents anymore until Jen-Hsun Huang decide to go public and explain why they are supporting SOPA.

  • @AchwaqKhalid

    I disagree Nvidia are awesome!

  • @AchwaqKhalid I agree Nvidia are HORRIBLE for supporting sopa!!

  • @baholete NVIDIA does not support SOPA. Visit our blog for more info: blogs nvidia com

  • @nvidia ok, glad to know that! Now get those keplers out already so we can have some competition between nvidia and amd, to bring those prices down to be a bit more normal

  • @AchwaqKhalid Because the GTX590 was pirated 3,000,000..

  • @AchwaqKhalid we need more Gpu companies than Amd & Nvidia..

  • @AchwaqKhalid what is sopa

  • @pete17989 The Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA)

  • i haven't seen the videos part 1 yet, however, they are demostrating that any tegra-powered tablet such as the one i want (asus transformer prime) will be able to run PC Games?

  • @NagaRunFast not exactly, the pc runs the games, but your tablet is able to show you the game in real time from the pc and control it in a remote way,,, to resume, you still need to have a good enough gaming pc.....

  • @diego81fer exactly! that's what i thought...i mean...isn't this kinda useless? :S i still prefer watching the game on a 22' screen instead of that one....

  • such a small unit could cost nearly the same price as a Tesla card replacing the normal workstation model.

  • Comment removed

  • Lol. Timberlake. :D

  • The PC one is wiring into could be a small Screenless EE unit with a Small Tesla card in it and you could do more than just virtual desktops with such a thing.

  • yeah :D

  • bee gees ¬¬

  • Marketing the Tegra 2 well could help keep the Tegra 3 prices low in the global market.
