@abehammy i had an apple II it was my first training computer in 1990 it looks the same but we had a different monitor that only displayed shades of green.. and there was no paddle we had to use the keyboard.
huraa for gurtrudes goose and sticky bears math. we even had chose your own adventure games.
@Montork I thought there were different monitors you could plug it into (albeit a much more primitive and limited seletion)? And wasn't the paddle just a regular accesory? Plus, the box-like device next to the keyboard looks like the Disk II, which was the Apple floppy disk slot at the time.
@abehammy the only way we could afford a computer was used at a flea market. the paddle was probably lost or something. but it came with a HUGE selection of games, and yes they where floppy. that looks exactly like the floppy box we had beside the computer... oh for the days when there weren't any towers just programs.
Boy, I imagine Sesame Street was around during 1933, the year when Carroll Spinney, the performer of Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch from "Sesame Street" and Picklepuss, was born on December 26th in Waltham, Massachusetts.
I thought I was going crazy for a second listening to Telly's voice. Turns out they changed voice actors to Martin Robinson a little after this episode. I think I prefer the later version, probably because it's the one I'm more familiar with.
I wish I had a computer that could do all that. Seriously, just look at all that complex programming. And those graphics, too. That's gotta be some sophisticated technology right there.
You know, this was probably a top of the line computer in those days; after all, I think full color graphics were not all that mainstream in 1984. Computers sure have come a long way in 25 years, haven't they?
It's interesting how Sesame Street started teaching computer stuff in the 80s. I love the one with Oscar's computer that is "user grouchy" instead of "user friendly" and tells people to get lost.
I would love to see Telly's first episode, when he was addicted to television (hence his name) and his eyes spun. That was freaky, and no, I am not making this up!
That may very well be, although when Martin began performing Telly, he originally used the voice that Brian used and later changed to the Telly voice that we know today.
I admit I can't tell the difference between Muehl and early Robinson, since Robinson was so good at imitating Telly's original voice. I think it took him a couple of years to settle in and make the character his own.
I remember this episode as a child because we had just recived our first pc at our school and they played this episode

Yeah, you're right. Out of all the Sesame Street monsters, Telly is very underrated. I always loved him, though.

this is not martin p robinson, i think this is brian muehl performing, cause his voice sounds warberlier

Since this is from the early 1980's, Martin wasn't performing Telly at that time.
