  • Great fanfare.

  • Great to watch this.Absolutely wonderful.Brings it all back those happy memories as a train enthusiast as a school child. Thanks for sharing.

  • Great vid. Top marks to the driver for that display.

  • Fantastic video - favourited and watched multiple times! Great horn work from the driver :-)

  • Glad da trains now aren't noisy and polluting like this one

  • @MyDSisHungry No because the ones now're shit!.

  • I've watched this about 8 times already, it's hauntingly beautiful, the swan song of that engine was amazing, thank you.

  • @pcvideogamer I like your description! Thank you.

  • Superb piece of nostalgia dating back to 1984...Bob

  • Every once in a while, I come back to this clip and watch it again, I never ever tire of hearing both the engine thrash its way out of the station, and the cheers from the crowds as it does so, to the sound of her horns a blowing...

If you like trains, then you just gotta love this clip.

10/10 Top of the class :-)

  • Fantastic loco. In the early 70s at York station, you always took the sight of a 40, 45, 47 n Deltic for granted. Now...... How times have changed.

  • Great trains

  • The 40s always sounded good full thrash, just wish I'd been there as Manchester and the north west had so much variety at that time.

  • What is it with the class 40 and the 37?............. I just cant help it but love those amazing machines. Its the scream of power that gets me every time.

  • Great video !

  • Love the horn. Great clip.

  • Just look at the Hellfire squad pmsl!

  • Aureol40012, on behalf of everyone unlucky enough to never see a 40 in service, I salute you.

  • @Dristarg you dont like 40s?

  • @55022RSG Of course I do - I was complimenting the uploader for giving everyone a chance to see them when they were in regular service.

  • @Dristarg ohhhh right, yeah the 40's were hellfire back in the day

  • @Dristarg

    Ta mate :-)

  • I wonder if Leeds Davros was there? or maybe he couldnt afford the fare to Manc back then, was probably at Bingley putting copper coins down little boys trousers!

  • GOOD OLD FUCK RAIL! I miss them days

  • @aureol40012 i agree, who wouldnt flail a class 40?

  • platform nazis...

  • you should be at the front of the subject when filming.

  • Hellfire !!

  • Now that's the way to leave a station!

  • Not bad for a Locomotive in reverse!!!.The

directional sidelights which corresponded with the old Disc Headcodes should have been Red if the Locomotive was being controlled from the other end.Seen as the lights stayed on

the Direction handle must have been left in the original forward position which it arrived with the Train. Not bad EH??.

  • HELLFIRE!!!!

  • beats all the rubbish around today

  • Absolute Crank !!

  • apparently I was there, im expected to remember but I dont to the annoyance of my dad

  • Great Vid. Them were the days...

  • wonderfull, and great when the driver blows the horn, never been to piccadilly but I doubt its like this anymore, shame, but I supose wee need more modern trains to boost rail enviromental factor, but I supose it's alway been good, even with those monsters on the rails.

  • I think I much prefer today's exciting scene at Piccadilly with fantastic Voyagers, phenomenal 323's and hellfire Desiros.

    Only joking

  • know you dont see that any more all you see is people is suite sorry i am going to be late boring

  • sent shivers down my spine, absolutely amazing video 5 star

  • My god!! you can tell thats the eighties can't ya.lol

  • Sends a cold shiver down my spine, thank god for the CFPS !

  • My favourite Aureol40012 clip, so nostalgic. I was'nt there as I was doing 40160 on the coast that day. Hellfire !!!

  • Pure Hellfire !

  • with an echo as well

  • This does make me wish I had been born a number of years earlier though I do look forward to some loco hauled passenger trains with 67s soon. Great piece of footage. thanks for posting
