Quite honestly,(and I mean no offense to anyone either) but I have owned now 7 Taylor guitars from the 300 series up to the Koa's, 600's, and T5's, GS Mini and Baby and not once have I be disappointed or had anyone say they don't stack up. More and more Taylor's are showing up on stages. Seeing professionals on stage and recording with them is good enough, along with my own ears. The limited 410ce did incorporate the Indian Rosewood with Sitka Spruce top. I own one as well.
@ArtDonna84 No offense taken. If you haven't experienced hand-built short-run, boutique acoustic guitars, you simply wouldn't know what you are missing. The kind of instruments we are talking about aren't available at BanjoMart or on MusiciansFiend, and if that's mostly where you shop, you would never come in contact with them. Most Taylors on stages are based on either their electric properties (because they don't resonate well), or the fact that someone paid them to place it there.
@5rjb Absolutely not. Standard Taylor guitars are large-run, factory guitars... good for what they are, but nothing like a boutique instrument. It may sound like some sort of anti-american statement, but we have import guitars that are half the price of Taylors that absolutely anhilate the sound, and playability.
@soundpurestudios Hi. Interesting what you have to say about Taylor guitars. Can you give some examples of "import guitars that are half the price of Taylors that absolutely anhilate the sound, and playability"? Very many thanks. I have recently bought myself a Taylor 412CE Fall 2011 Ltd. I'm happy with it, but always open to consider something 'different'. Thanks.
@PATRICKJMT1 We'd love to figure out how we can arrange a demo for you... you will absolutely not be disappointed, particularly if you are experienced with the typical Taylor! Please don't hesitate to give us a ring, if you were interested we could even work out an approval period for you, hand pick one for you, and all you'd be responsible for was shipping if you didn't feel the way that we do about it. We sell a huge portfolio of hand-built guitars (of which Taylors are typically not).
@guitarfreakirl To be perfectly honest, we aren't certain at this point- that used piece is long gone. Compared to a lot of the instruments that we have in here, it sounded like a cardboard box. If you are contemplating a serious guitar/upgrade, definitely feel free to reach out to us, as we would love to point you in the right direction. Honestly, we have Eastmans that are half the price of this one, that blow it out of the water... and higher end pieces as well. acoustics@soundpure(dot)com
@guitarfreakirl .. I believe in 2002 maybe 03.. (dont quote me on the years) they used indian rosewood on limited editions... and this year for their fall limited editions, they brought back the rosewood for their 400 series guitars. so normally they use ovangkol, but switch it to rosewood for limited editions.
@rigglypuffers Awesome, thanks! Quite honestly (and we mean no offense to anyone with the comment), we have generally found the Taylors that have come through our door over the years (quite a large number of them) very uninspiring instruments. Most of them (even the "upgraded" and "limited edition" models), sound like cardboard boxes as compared to the instruments we sell from brands like Collings, Santa Cruz... but even much less expensive models like Eastman can run circles around them
@wannadontwanna Thanks for the comment. You could be "revived", literally, by the tones of guitars like Santa Cruz, Goodall, Collings or McPherson. We're here to talk gear! Let us know if there is anything we can do to help. Take care!
@soundpurestudios hmm.. am actually kind of considering.. if next time im to upgrade my acoustic whether should i up to taylor or gibson.. both sounded good.. although taylor more sweet kind of sound, while gibson more "whole".. but thats 4 nx time.. :) just currently got an electric as well... any suggestion, how to improve ?>:)
@wannadontwanna In our opinion, taylor and gibson are not consistently putting out great guitars no matter how much you spend. Once you get to a certain price-point, you should most definitely look into a boutique brand like Collings, Huss & Dalton or Santa Cruz. There are tons of amazing full-bodied, evenly balanced acoustics with seriously amazing hand-made craftsmanship that the major brands simply can't match these days. Let us know if we can help!
@wannadontwanna There are plenty of pre-owned and entry-level boutique acoustics available. We strongly believe that boutique acoustic guitars will always provide superior tonal quality, playability, and world-class craftsmanship. Let us know when you are looking to get into a better guitar, we are here to help!
I have this Taylor 410ce and like it very much. I like it better now that i recently had it fitted with a bone Nut & Saddle and the sustain is incredible and tone is improved. Work was done by Peter Bond at Island Guitars in Honolulu Hawaii
@rayka very cool! That sounds like it made a really great improvement to your tone! thanks for checking out the demo video! If you are ever looking for a boutique guitar, amp or pedal, let us know! take care
@SultaoFeliz Just sold it last week! sorry! Call or visit our site for other mint condition used guitars! We have an amazing Bourgeois and santa cruz tony rice that are serious deals
I have a 410 CE. To call it an awesome guitar would be selling it short. When I first heard the sound, I knew for sure, it is what it is with no added affects... Great guitar and so easy to play. I'd like to know who the craftsman was that created my guitar. Hats off to He/She.....................
@jacksonrussell1 All boutique brands. Way better than the major brands in both quality and tone. Let us know if you have questions about any of them! thanks for checking out the video
I have the exact same guitar. The headstock on mine is alot prettier though. Sound wise they are identical. Taylor's consistancy is mind boggling! I would never dream of selling mine or trading it in. Whoever buys this one is in for a real treat.
@lcdryfly This is a LTD edition, so yes, it has East Indian Rosewood back and sides in place of the Ovangkol that normally comes on the 410. This pre-owned acoustic is in mint condition and we're surprised it's still in our showroom with what we're selling it for
We were pretty impressed how this one turned out. We have a lot of high-end guitars here at the shop and this one surprised us. Records really well. Let us know if you have any questions about it...

I thought that the 400 series Taylors had Ovangkol back and sides, not East Indian Rosewood as stated here. The taylor website supports me on this.
