  • This film actually makes me want to do sprint cars even more.

  • acually thats when the fun begins

  • Thats nothing, i was there one year at the nationals when a guy cleared the turn 3 fence

  • ugvhcgvtucvblgbjhvgfhdjjfgbihvghckfvjjvjxcvgykcffjgck,yxc jgl

  • Honey do a search for wild ride in a sprint car. Billy Alley

  • Hey honey search wild ride in a sprint car. My friend Billy Alley

  • I can say from experience that it hurts REAL BAD when youre doing over 100 miles an hour and you flip a sprint car. BUT,with that being said,Id MUCH RATHER flip than have a hard crash into the wall or get t-boned by another car, etc. When you flip, the top wing getting crunched absorbs the energy, whereas when you hit the wall, your body absorbs ALL the impact - 9 times outta 10 you get injured FAR WORSE than when you flip (TRUST ME, NEITHER ONE IS MUCH FUN THOUGH HAHA!!)

  • You cant post youtube links in the comments section for some reason, so I cant post links to any of my world of outlaws races or any of my wins, but if you go to the youtube seach bar and enter "Ohsweken Speedway July 11" and then click on the "Corr Pak Sprint Cars A-Main" theres a video of a great race I won 2 or 3 years ago - Im driving the white 77x Maxim Chassis / Gaerte Engines car - I passed for the win coming out of turn 4 on the last lap.

  • I race sprint cars-Ive ran a few WoO races & Ive won lots of local/regional touring series races. This video is Billy Alley at Knoxville - A GOOD Knoxville motor will cost you MINIMUM 40,000$ - Closer to 50,000$ if its brand new. A new rolling chassis is 25,000$ +/- a few thou $ depending on what you 're-use' from previous cars.As per the other responses,I use a HANS device-It has LITERALLY saved my life multiple times-I wouldnt even do time trials where Im on the track by myself without it.

  • "HANG ON, HERE WE GO AGAIN!!!"

  • If you can race a sprint car you can probably race anything!

  • @ThreeRiversRC i agree.....most really good racers just know how to go fast.....no matter What they are driving........but the sprint car guys really get it done along with the flat track motorcycle....riders they both have big balls\

  • These cars new and complete are about 75 grand with the 20 thousand dollar motor, that damaged probably junked the motor, all wings, both axles, ect.

  • i bet his neck was sore the next morning haha

  • it is billy alley and that is alot more than 10k for that more like 20k

  • whos driving

  • fun! my neighbor was a sprint car driver. whats this show called?

  • Hans devices were not mandatory when this happened

  • no head and neck restraint on.....not smart hes lucky he didnt brake his neck in a wreck like that

  • He used a tivo

  • brutal whiplash other than that looks alright

  • Most sprint car drivers have a full containment seat and it is not comfortable with a Hans I guess.. I race microsprints and I'm 15 I've never had a Hans or containment seat either

  • im driving a 350 dirt north east budget sportsman at kannen NH thish year and im 14

  • ooooh. he doesn't look happy...

  • @AlKezer712 probably a 10000 dollar wreck...

  • @tillman40 10,000???

  • @Baker9x 10k is an understatement. That's a pretty hard flip and I doubt there's ANYTHING usable off the car other than the motor, seat, and steering wheel. 16-20k is an easy low side estimate.

  • the driver is lucky there was no fire. the shield did not appear to be locked down when they went green..I have done that before..not smart LOL stops the fog but..

  • yeah but its the love you gotta have for it even though it is dangerous and every wing and non-wing sanction in the united states and australia the HANS device is required no hans no racing for you...

  • THEY NEED HANS DEVICES

  • HANS is a head and neck restraint system.

  • what are HANS

  • Racing motorsports can be very dangerous, especially this crash.

  • @Tiamat583 driving a smart car is as dangerous as a sprint car

  • @ryantmns29

    yes and no.

  • So wish Ralph Sheheen was back announcing sprint car racing alongside with Doty.

  • @racermac1988 yeah they were good, shaheen is just a great announcer in general hes so passionate about racing.

  • @racermac1988 Dude they were one of the best commentary teams ever!!

  • do they use the HANS device in sprint car yet?...cause this guy is lucky to be OK

  • @tonip420 yes they do use a HANS system in sprint car racing. I may be wrong but think this is one of the first sports to require a HANS system, even before NASCAR required it.

  • Damn, it looked like his head got dislocated, look how far and quickly that helmet comes down he flips! That's insane!

  • i like puppies

  • @Samkruse What the?

  • does anyone know what type of camera they use for in car cameras? i want to put one in my car but i dont want a peice of crap

  • i want to be a sprint car driver

  • Steve King was a great racer. It was really sad news to hear about him dying because he had alot of races left to win. same with jesse hockett

  • Comment removed

  • 1c midget driver chad mcdanials may u rest in peace & run WIDE open on the big circle track in the sky!!!!! i was at the race he died at

  • half of u need to just leave right now.....i drive a 410 sprint car not some peice of crap either its top of the line and u never cut corners on safety stuff... we have a hans device, a butlerbuilt (only good brand) full containment seat , and simpson 5 point belts, with hans belts. Yes your head can move a lot with the hans on, if it just stopped ur head ur brain would hit the front of ur skull and you would die of brain trauma, it SLOWS DOWN the movement...

  • cool

  • Glad he was wearing at least some kind of head restraint, and the full containment seat didn't hurt either.

  • Billy Alley is the guy's name for anyone who didn't know. He is/was a low budget guy which is probably why he didnt have the hans device. Another interesting fact is that he wears glasses and during this wreck they went up and down with the visor. u can see them on top of his head.

  • great view!

  • wow thats insane

  • That clip is featured on Hutchens' website since that is what he was wearing. He even comments on how well it worked in the interview after the incident.

  • look at the left rear tire 0:22

  • this guy is sponserd by Speedway Motors and isn't hearing a Hans? That man better count his blessings, he was lucky.

  • ur going fast enough to use a HANS at 30 mph... racing is dangerous yet thats the thrill behind it.. i race 600s and i wouldnt dare get in the car without the HANS..

  • @jwillracing38 hans devices were not designed for speedway racing unless you have a full wrap around seat because they have no side impact protection that was the words from the doctors after my neighbour had a big crash they said the only thing that saved his neck was the other restraint he had on we have used several and found the leat to be the best

  • @haggis240 umm if you are on a speedway WITHOUT a full containment seat, a hans is the least of your worries... you ALREADY have brain damage. A guy had his back broken at knoxville because he had a crappy seat and it FOLDED when he flipped, so think again before you put yet ANOTHER crappey seat into your car.

  • @haggis240 well you my friend ALREADY have brain damage if you would go on a speedway WITHOUT a full containment seat.

  • @SJplaya11 i dont drive them at the time of the accident we were not running a cull containment seat becuase wich was wrong and your right we need a full comtainment seat and now have one in both cars

  • @jwillracing38 hey thats where i got my start and ive never gotten into a car without a hans.. there's no way anybody that cares about you would let you either

  • @jwillracing38 I agree 100 %

I also race 600's on a quarter mile. It took one wreck to tell my dad to get rid of the neck brace and get a HANS.

  • @jwillracing38 Me eather. its not haw fast your going i tell people, Its haw fast you stop.

  • @jwillracing38 Is he using a HANS device? His head is doing a lot of quick jerking.

  • @mitchtavio he's using a hutchens device. its actually on their website as a 'testimony' to the device.

  • @mitchtavio nah if you look at the belts under his seatbelt he is using a hutchins but that quick jerking is the hutchins pulling him back

  • @jwillracing38 So youyr saying no matter the division the Hans is a good investment? I want to race Asphalt Street Stocks, but they only require a neck collar.

  • @hoosierredneck1

Yes. I would say once you pass 50 MPH it should be a requirement, jwillracing said 30 MPH so that should tell you right there. When you race you have to prepare for the unexpected regardless of how fast or slow your going. Better to be to safe and walk away, then not safe enough and not walk away.

  • @garf1eld029 Yeah I guess you guys have a point on that one. Especially considering a driver just died here in Indiana last week.

  • @garf1eld029 amen man. I race USST (united states super trucks) and i piled my truck into the turn 3 wall at about 100mph head on. i had just ordered my hans a week prior to that and was waiting on it but i had to practice so i got to watch my helmet go out the passenger window when i hit. Now i dont get in anything with out my hans on its a highly recommended safety item imo.

  • @jwillracing38 i fell you i race 305 sprints and mod lites, hans are the main things that will save you

  • Comment removed

  • who was that

  • he will feel that in the morning

  • OUCH!!

  • Hell yea I'd still be a sprint car driver!

  • he lost his glasses when the vicer came up. Thats how hard he hit.

  • that has to hurt like a bitch!! i flipped 2 times in a honda oddysey but that was going like 35 i can't even imagine doing those speeds.

  • A HANS device isn't attatched to any part of the car dumbass.... My cousin races Super Late Models and wears one every race, and when he wrecks he is out very quickly with the HANS device still on.

  • wheres the hans device or something?

  • that was way before....

  • hes wearing one

  • Kids these days... ~shakes head not knowing how humanity will survive with retards like this in the world~

  • what are you talking about?

Ps i used to race online with you

  • Huh I guess the guys post got deleted or something that I replied too. He said, "He doesn't wear a Hans device because it's dirt racing where the speeds aren't fast enough to need one" I guess it got deleted or something

  • might of been me but idk how fast these guys are going, but what i ment is for what i race, hans device is not needed

  • These cars easily go 115 at a 3/8 mile track I think its fast enough to want a Hans device, but it is his choice betcha others are wearing a Hans device while they are racing, get with the program.

  • yeah like usac nonwings are going 140 at half miles like at the pas , sideways , if you dont wear a hans device, get an autograph from dale earnhardt for me .

  • A HANS is very recommended in any kind of racing. It doesn't matter wether you are going 60 mph or 200 mph, you can get seriously injured if you flip.

  • good ol knoxsville..yea he felt that one that neck sore from all that impact but sweet video that car must of been really damn loose for hm to loose it comeing off the turn usually you lose it in turn not coming out of it

  • hell yeah

    i would do it

  • Hmm, As a sprint car driver myself, I'm definately not a fan of how much his Head and Neck were moving throughout the impacts.

  • the cloud of mist coming from the car at :26 is fuel....

  • no really sherlock!

ur a dumbass its fuckin obvious!

  • Comment removed

  • Oh really? Well i guess for all of the people that didn't know that it was fuel, know now that he was really lucky not to of caught of fire.....yes really sherlock :)

  • Thanks for telling us it was fuel, I thought it was an exploding milk jug he just picked up from the grocery store! lmao

  • RIP Robbie Stanley

  • God I was raised around Sprints. My all time favorite driver was Sammy Swindell. Now I'm watching his son race mini's lol I'm only a few days older then Kevin haha.

I'm going to the Riverside Race April 4th when the Outlaws are coming to West Memphis baby!

  • Midgets not mini's :D

  • i remember this on speed channel ... makes me want to use an ON-Board on my 360 nonwing sprint.

  • Rock and Roll Billy Ally Baby!

  • Actualy, In a flip, or any other crash, it is the sudden stop that really hurts being an endover or what have you. An instant stop and change of direction is what causes injury. Thankfully winged Sprints are pretty safe.. I've watched them for many years and can only recall a few deaths related..

  • I can think of a good handful. They are not as dangerous as they used to be but they are still dangerous. I've seen 2 deaths in person. I drive dirt stock cars and someone I raced againts you probably never heard of died last year when he was trapped in his car when it caught on fire. In 2006 2 people died at Central Arizona Raceway after years of people getting killed or hurt bad until they finally took some of the banking out but now it's closed. People die and you don't hear about it.

  • Dirt stock cars? Is that late models or something else?

  • The co-announcer for this race is stuck in a wheelchair for life driving one of these cars wrapped in a steel cage with a helmet on. I think he has every right to state how much one of these can get you hurt. These are winged 410 sprint cars, I don't care who you are, you're putting your life on the line driving one of these at a big track like Knoxville. The year after this video was made a driver got killed at this race.

  • Great comment Arizonar1, Yes, Brad Doty was injured at Eldora Speedway not far away from my home.. 410 sprints are nasty fast. I remember a few years back, someone had a Brad Doty Sprint car at one of the races that was set up with hand controls... Brad done a couple of laps in it!! That was an awesome moment, Brad joked and said he was waitting for the geen flag to fly!!

  • @arizonaresident1 how did he die?

  • @brianbora1

He hit the wall in the 2006 Knoxville Nationals. It was Steve King. He was a farmer from Kansas who died doing what he loved. I have other unfortunate news. Jesse Hocket has died. He got electrocuted in his trailer. Unfortunately, since Manzanita closed down, I don't see these cars any more, I'd have to travel to Vegas or CA, but Hocket definitely was one of my favorite drivers.

  • @arizonaresident1

Hockett was from my hometown. i was fortunate enough to get to meet him just weeks before he died. Definitely a huge loss to the racing community, his family, and the vast number of freinds and fans he had.

  • @joeminer75 r u talking bout jesse THE ROCKET hockett cause im pretty sure he still alive

  • @95s10low35 No im pretty sure he passed away on May 26... he was electrocuted in his race shop

  • @arizonaresident1 your very correct when you state your putting your life on the line. but any race car driver as myself included know there is a danger everytime you strap yourself in. i thank god have never been in a bad wreck but if i were to die tommorow id wanna die behind the wheel of my car.

  • @arizonaresident1 I know. I want to be a Late model driver but there is a chance that I'll be walking away from a crash it I race. Some dumbasses thing that racing is a joke but they dont even know anything about racing. It makes me angry seeing comments of racing videos that are bad. How about they get in a car and wreck and see what it's like.

  • @arizonaresident1 I live close to the big E and let me tell you, after driving a 410 a couple laps that was enough!! Get me away scary shit driving good race let alone a wreck

  • billy ally is the best in the nebraska area

  • FUUUCK look at head wip around

  • yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

  • yep , wanna race sprint cars. dirt or asphalt. i have an oportunity my parents own 2,and i got alottt of racin buddies tht race sprint. 360 though.

  • wow man

    ouch

    his neck had to kill

  • thats why you wear a hans device and installe the right seats

  • that had to hurt like hell

  • danm i think that was hard and those of u comenters that make fun of those thing stand in the road ill run u over with mine fuckin underestimators

  • o boy u guys know billy woopy hes just a weekly racer he is freaking amazing though my fav during the saturday nights

  • it is really like tht but way rougher and it feels like it takes 3 mins to flip

  • You flip it back down in case of fire or any spills.

  • i remember being at billy allys house with my dad and makeing fun of that reck with the visor fliping it back down after the reck

  • i know Billy alley Personaly

  • that hurts like hell even though you have all that head padding that you need but your brain still get a beaten and its very easy to pass out.

  • Watched this live.

  • I was there at the Nationals when it happenned

  • I noticed that you recorded this off your tv. Did you just use a regular camera? If you did how did you get the audio so well?

  • he probably burnt it to a dvd

  • Damn that had to have killed his neck.

  • In world of outlaws, it's a 410 obligatory and it's give up to 850 hp, and at the back it about 800hp.

  • I assumed it was a 410. And I dont know who your engine builders are but you need to find a new one!. My cast iron 358 sprint engine makes 680. And I know many 410's over 800. So yes I DO KNOW MY SHIT WELL!!

  • Visor open....Visor closed. I'm sure that's real good on the brain too.

  • You idiot. You must be one of the biggest dipshits to post a comment on here, especially having NO CLUE on what the hell your sayin. These cars have over 800 horsepower and weigh only 1275 lbs. Your little SHITBOX supra would get stomped asshole

  • ya when yor at knoxville theres no 'small' carshes

  • this was relly, crazy... whats even crazier was that he landed it in perfect condition... well him, not so much the car... aha

  • if u r doing 175 ya dont stop so bull shit

if ya did you are a idiot and u went to jall for it.

  • Thats a really bad crash. Iv'e seen a lot of bad crashes at my home town track. Hopefully you didn't get like a whip lash a or even worse cause I know how those feel like. Where was this at?

  • hey dekrey19 race it on dirt then see how fast u can go

  • Good thing Billy has all that money behind him... there's nothing left here!

  • Thank god for roll cages, helmets & neck braces huh? My grandad was a team owner for Outlaw class & my cousin David still races one. Good luck......

  • Dorkey19, D yo really think your Chevy would run 185 MPH??? LOL!!

  • I crashed hard enough for my face shield to flip up hard enough to break the hinges off. That was only one impact. This looks way worse with several.

  • great shot and video!

the video just about tells it all?

  • I was in a crash whit my friend in a go kart and it was even worse beacause I didn't wear my seatbelt because it didn't fit me.

  • ive flipped like that dont fell to fuckin good

  • Sounds like you bumped your head hard!

  • 410 Sprint car would pull that friggin Toyota Supra faster than it would run on its own. 90turbo7m obviously knows NOTHING about a sprinter.. What a crack head!

  • to 90Turbo7m i can drive the car you drive with my dick in my hand now with that said come on and get in one of my 410 or hell if you would like you can get in the 360 so it dont scare you to much bitch

  • id have my eyes closed just like him and praying for the best

  • ya like one of my good friends Steve King

  • Hell no!! That's Billy Alley!! Alley is the greatest thing to come from Nebraska since Joe Saldana.

  • Wasn't this at the Nationals in um... 2005 maybe? or 2004. I was there for this one. Think this was the year Clint Bowyer was in that bad wreck with Kim Mock too...any vids of that one?

I remember Alley was haulin' and just flipped comin' outta turn 2. Knoxville is just too damn fast! but I love it anyway

  • I said clint.. haha. I think his name was Curtis acutally

  • dude its clint bowyer u idiot

  • No, Clint is the NASCAR driver. This was Curtis Boyer, a sprint car driver, idiot.

  • omfg that looked like whip lash just calling on him omfg i would of pissed my pants if tha was me honestly i would of

  • Crazy

  • Billy is the MAN

  • Was that Dale Blaney?

  • no its not dave blaney! he races in nascar, duh
