There was a case in Florida where two girls got switched. One girl is sick and dies at age 9 and that is when they found out that a switch had happened. Arlena Twigg (the one that died) and Kimberly Mayse / Mayce. You can google them and find more information.

Wasn't there another movie made that ahd the title Switched at Birth? I don't remember it very well but I do remember that it was a true story and it involved two baby girls who were accidentally switched.

Yep. Arianna Richards and Erika Flores played the girls (Kimberly Mays and Arlena Twigg). When Arleena got sick and died after a surgery, a blood test revealed that the girls had been switched at the hospital where they were born. The family had a court battle for custody, but back off. Kimberly ran away once when she was a teenager to go live with her biological family, but then after a few years, went back to her father claiming that *he* was her dad.

Kimberly Mays is now 31 years old.

I just heard that Kimberly Mays recently lost custody of her son. Her attorney stated that it had nothing to do with him (the boy) being physically abused, but nothing else was reported. I read it somewhere on the 'Net, but I don't know if it is true. I think she has other children too, but I'm not sure about that either ... Just thought it was interesting ...

@Whit451 Yes, it's also called Switched at Birth and the girls were switched and one of the mothers die and the other girl has leukemia.... I think 10 years go by before they find out what happened.
