For those who have seen the movie, I would like to mention one major flaw when Gate's mother was delighted to found the ancient Olmac language that will unlock the pre-Columbia history.

The Olmac language that his mother was talking about was actually ancient chinese writing (search: seal script). Unless the movie believes the S. Americans were ancient Chinese descendants, they should have been done more research.

I love this movie. One of the best movies Ive ever seen in my life (my opinion). Abigail and riley are my favorite characters. Seeing history like this wants to make me learn so much more. There should be a third installment of national treasure about page 47...

no, they have said that the clues are fictional, but they are undoubtedly clues out there like them. There is so much history that is yet to be found and these movies have gotten kids to realize that. unforunatly, a missing page from booth's diary has not been found, and no one has found an ancient wooden plank inside the resolute desks, but maybe no one has looked hard enough!

I wasn't saying people can't figure out difficult things quickly. It's more the fact that most of what he comes up with is completely ludicrous. (spelling?) take, for example, the first scene. His magical understanding that he had to cut his finger to make a blood imprint...there was no explanation as to how he knew to do that, he just did. This leads one to believe he knew in advance about what he would find...then if hes so smart, why wouldnt he use ink?

So, we were on our school field trip to DC, and went to see the Lincoln Memorial while waited for appointed tour of the White House (you cant tour with big groups without having a prior appointment I believe) and who's there? Why it's National Treasure's crew, cast and Cage himself! So we had to wait along with another group while they filmed, so we went to the Korean war memorial, we came back and I got some nice shots of Cage on my camera.
