The dollar store doesn't have anything for dollar anymore. Many items have gone to 1.50 and 1.75.

You should travel the world sometime, even if it's your US-'world'. As for the Chinese stuff, dont worry it will be gone overnight, just wait for the inevitable yuan exchange correction. But then again, think of the dollar collapse. But Hmm, do you think that will really happen?. Of course you don't. As for 'hard choices', you definitely need to travel (alone).

@OwlWatchman It's just about to happen, and Americans don't realize it. They are used to "a government with money." But it doesn't have any, really. France is on a rebound, but there is so much waste, debt and mismanagement, I don't think it will really do much good. I still haven't been paid from the Tresor Publique from last year here.

@slobomotion You know, if the Fed was able to "print" $3.3 trillion and give it out to foreign banks, I figure there are banksters in the US that have plenty of money - maybe they just stole it from the rest of us. That money can travel instantaneously wherever they want it. With GE not paying ANY taxes last year, and in fact getting money BACK from the US Treasury, something is really amiss here!

@bodryn I've just seen a video up of a Canadian politician who talks about a 30 bn slush fund, the remote control systems on planes, and more. YouTube will change soon and we won't be able to use it to share very much. Google Video is about to stop. I really hope you save "The Disappearing Male" and others do, too. Things are totally screwy. On this I think most of us can agree.

@bodryn Google Video is finishing up at the end of this month but a few can be done early next month. I am getting a lot of messages from people around the US that their Internet (and YouTube) is not working at all or barely working, or only partial messages going through, certain key words and nothing goes through at all. A rather unsettling glitch, if that's all it is.

I go to Aldi, Meijer, Walmart and Dollar Tree for everything.

Target is slow now.

Walmart is PACKED.

I've compared. Certain groceries are way lower at Walmart than Jewel or Dominicks here in Chicago.

I also go to local Ma and Pa markets that still exist.

There are deals out there, you just have to shop around.

I NEVER pay full price. You have to work at it, but it's worth it.

@uspimpclub We used to sit at home and make those cutouts, you know, you fold up a newspaper and take scissors and all the little figures are holding hands? You should really learn the difference between "their" and "there," hm? The kids do pick up on the vibe, right? They don't actually need anything, they want it but they like being shown how to make toys out of natural stuff. I did, anyway. I always felt leery of "having stuff" after that childhood, never left me. xo

@uspimpclub dollar store sells things in smaller quantities. So in some cases, you get screwed over on, say, a bag of pretzels. The dollar store ones are always half the size of the Great Value brand, &GV are only a few cents over a dollar.
