i bought a kit from austin home brew for the alaskan amber clone. Turned out great. Just can't wait for fishing season to get back up to AK and get some Alaskan IPA
It turned out great, a little too malty for my tastes, but my friends loved it. I would probably use a yeast like nottingham next time to get the attenuation up.
i found a few recipes for alaskan amber but yet to try. Have you ever thought about trying a alaskan IPA recipe? Im new like yourself so still sticking to easy stuff for now
Alaskan Amber is maltier overall, but the hops are what make it what it is. Turning it into an IPA would change the flavor a lot. If you are still at the cloning stage, I would do a bridgeport IPA clone. That was my first brew and I was very pleased.
If you want to turn Alaskan into an IPA just double the hops.
Thanks, Keep the Videos coming. I like the way you do them vs. everyone else on youtube. I learned a lot of little things that most people don't show. Keep up the good work
