  • i bought a kit from austin home brew for the alaskan amber clone. Turned out great. Just can't wait for fishing season to get back up to AK and get some Alaskan IPA

  • how did your alaskan amber clone turn out?

  • It turned out great, a little too malty for my tastes, but my friends loved it. I would probably use a yeast like nottingham next time to get the attenuation up.

  • i found a few recipes for alaskan amber but yet to try. Have you ever thought about trying a alaskan IPA recipe? Im new like yourself so still sticking to easy stuff for now

  • Alaskan Amber is maltier overall, but the hops are what make it what it is. Turning it into an IPA would change the flavor a lot. If you are still at the cloning stage, I would do a bridgeport IPA clone. That was my first brew and I was very pleased.

If you want to turn Alaskan into an IPA just double the hops.

  • Thanks, Keep the Videos coming. I like the way you do them vs. everyone else on youtube. I learned a lot of little things that most people don't show. Keep up the good work

  • Will do, and thanks.
