I am a basic Bright-House subscriber I'd tried Clear despite some negative reviews, deciding to give them a try. Since some seem to have a favorable experience with the service, I figure that I should judge for myself during the 30day tryout period. Mind you I live well within the covered area for some reason tree cover was enough to obstruct the signal to the device even when aimed at the tower. fluctuations in signal strength from one extreme to the other were far too frequent.and frustrating
@Rescueballs, this test was comparing one $40 a month internet service with another $40 internet service, Apples to Apples. I am VERY aware of the many other broadband options available however they would classify as Oranges in this comparison.
you are paying brighthouse for 10 Mbps.. so your going to get 10Mbps.. If you paid them for their 40Mbps speeds, you would be getting 40 Mbps..
Also you clearwire is dependent on local usage and will not be as consistent and stable as a physical line.
or since your in orlando there is this company you might have heard of called verizon with fios.. im paying $48/month with them and getting 38 down and 17.5 up consistent
oooo hell yes. i have directtv internet service and we are only getting 1.47 mb/s for download. for upload we are getting 0.39 mb/s. i cant wait till i get brighthouse
@AJM345678 well we alredy ordered it but its not my decision on the internet. but hell i aint complaining id rather have 9mb/s than a whopping 1.47mb/s. lol

Most of the time Clear reaches about 500kb/s but it's mostly 50kb/s the whole freaking day. Same speed I get with DSL. Sup with that!?!

There's a new modem with Wi-Fi built-in that Clear now offers.
And, take note to not purchase ANY modem. Not yet at least.
Because you (we) are using Beta WiMax.
The true WiMax is yet to come, in about a year, that will be as fast as Verizon FiOS.
