Oddly, in the beginning of this song, the piano made me think of The Corpse Bride by Tim Burton. The part where Emilie Autumn Victor are playing the piano together. XD
after watching this i can die happy, knowing the word has people out here like this, and hasnt degraded down into rappers and republicans ... kaythanksbai
Wow...has it already been this long since I saw her at this show? Time flies. There were so many times during this show where I started to tear up. Such beautiful music.
I saw her in Tilburg, the Netherlands. The whole audience was really quiet during this song, and I almost cried.. This is my favourite song since then.
The CD it's recorded on is "It, Wit, Don't Give A Shit Girls" by Fascinating Aïda (Dillie Keane's group). Amanda uses slightly modified lyrics (the original has "bright horses danced" and "just sixpence for pleasure untold" rather than "bright colors danced" and "a dollar for pleasure untold").
This is one of those "Oh My God, I can't believe how brilliant this is" performances. The ones where you have to ring up ALL your friends and say......"Hey, you simply must see this....."
Fucking amazing. Beautiful. Moving. Powerful. Deeply emotionally moving. And all sorts of other things that I can't think of since it's 2am.
I didn't see this performance, but when I heard her sing it live in SF I was in shock and awe. It brought tears to my eyes, literally. She's fucking amazing. There's no other way to describe this woman. I only hope some day I get the chance to really sit down with her and have an actual conversation.
I hate to be a compulsive spelling corrector, but the song is written by Dillie Kean, not Dilly.
She's an amazing Irish actress, songwriter and comedian, best known for her work in Fascinating Aida, billed in the US as "absolutely magnificent".

@kelian69 Well, "Look Mummy, No Hands" was written long before Anastasia was a gleam in any animator's eye.

And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon,
Little boy blue and the man in the moon.
"When you coming home, son?" "I don't know when,
But we'll get together then, dad.
You know we'll have a good time then."

T_T I'm totally trying not to cry right now. This song is so deep. She put so much emotion in it, as usual. I can't believe how amazing she is.

Check out original version by Camille O'Sullivan too (See video response above)

I really would like to have the sheet music of this song. May somebody could help me to find it out?
Danysynth 3 years ago
You could always figure it out by ear, that is, if you have some extra time.
smellslikechildren1 3 years ago
Don't know if this helps but Dillie Keane wrote it maybe if you do a search that way...
