  • whoa, I saw your videos a couple years ago, I remember the kimbap girls video. Your youngest daughter is growing up fast.

  • @prst99 Yeah, it's amazing how fast they grow up, huh? I like having this YouTube site so I can go back to those old vids once in a while and remember when they were so little and young.

Hope all has gone well for you since the time you watched 'kimbap girls'. :)

  • Avya is sooooooo cute! and Sudona looks sooo beautiful XD

  • @butterfliesmemoirs Thanks butterfly - you know we always love reading your comments. They make us feel all warm and fuzzy inside. :)

  • Avya's ridiculously cute. Can I have her for a couple of years? I'll send you guys pictures, don't worry. :-)

I was curious..does Avya speak much English? From your videos it seems like she understands it more than she speaks it. Like she'll say a few words in English but when she really needs to express something it's in Korean. Am I right about that? I ask because I'm just very interested in bilingualism in children and how they learn languages and everything.

  • @EspanolVLog Sorry, but I want to be part of every minute of their lives. :)

Avya is speaking more and more English but your right she is more fluent in Korean. Sudona was the same way when she was young too. I am the only one that they speak English with so it makes learning the language tough. It can also be funny at times because she speaks English like a middle-aged white guy. - LOL

  • Ahh, I forgot to take into consideration that you may be the only one speaking to them in English. I wanted to ask you if Sudona was that way too (I figured she might have been) but you already answered that!

LOL @ her speaking like a middle-aged white guy...Speaking of...I recently saw an old xmas video of yours where you're dancing and I was like ahhhhhhhhhhhh that's where Avya gets her dance moves from!!!! :-)

  • @EspanolVLog LOL - yeah, I don't take things very seriously and my dancing shows it. I feel sorry that my daughters are learning my ridiculous dancing - hopefully they will learn to dance from all the Korean music videos. :) - And your jab was noticed - yes, I dance like a middle-aged white guy but in my head I always thought I danced really well. Wisdom comes from age. hahaha

  • @EspanolVLog BTW

    1) I assume you are American, so where and how did you learn to speak Spanish so well?

    2) I dare you to put up a video on YouTube of you showing off your dancing skills. :)

  • 1)I'm not sure. I've only been speaking it for 2 years and have never been to a Spanish-speaking country. I think it's just that I work really hard, and I might be lucky in that it comes easy to me. I have a tutor that I meet with every week, and I record videos (for me) of myself talking almost every day to practice. And I read and write in Spanish a lot. But a lot of it might be luck b/c I know people who have been studying longer than me and they still have a hard time

    2) I WILL! Just wait!

  • @EspanolVLog I wish I had your talent (talent NOT luck). I am terrible with languages. I should be fluent in Korean by now but am still a long way off.

Looking forward to seeing those moves. :)

  • Btw, I really do enjoy watching your videos..sometimes I'm way too much of a perfectionist. Like I definitely have my goofy side (it shows in some of my vids) but sometimes I take myself too seriously and am afraid to make mistakes in front of others for fear of what people may think of me. Watching people like you teaches me how to have fun and enjoy what I have. :-) Alright, alright, enough mushiness! lol

  • @EspanolVLog It comes with age. When I was your age I was the same way, or even more so. But like you said - we put these videos up for ourselves. I keep a blog for my daughters and I use the videos for that - I don't put them up to attract any attention. It's cool when people watch or comment (most of the time) but that is not the purpose.

I don't know any of the people who watch or comment so if they say something bad I don't really care. I choose to view it as they are just jealous.

  • I have to work on that too...when people leave ignorant comments I take it personally sometimes, even though I know I shouldn't. Well, Dr. Barton...that's something we should touch on in our next session. LOL

  • @EspanolVLog To my favorite patient,

You and I both need to work on that!
