It's too bad it doesn't have a name. But if it did have one, I'd call this piece of music, "River Lines Serenade".

  • I'm actually curious as to the big band playing this song, and what the song is called. For the rest of the video, it's pretty BA.

  • <3 the EL

  • I lived in Kenton,OH. from 70-74,and not only did I get to see the EL and PC action there but when we would go visit my birthplace(Galion,OH)we would almost always get stopped by EL trains going there! When we moved back to Galion in early 74 I could look up my street and watch EL and PC E units pull freight! Just wish I had the insight to take pics of all that. I still feel lucky though.

  • what is the song

  • i have childhood memories with this cideo

  • If you guys like the EL, (and who doesn't), come to the museum in North Judson, Indiana and ride behind Alco #310 painted in EL while sitting in caboose #345 also in EL paint, all on EL trackage going past operating EL signals!!!

  • Hey: Please tell Schultz I know where there is a DW mechanism for the Wig Wag!

  • 0:52 See, in Japan, those railfans would've been heckled and yelled at to get out of the shot.

  • My Great Grandmother was employed by the Erie Railroad, and N&W and EL are two of my favorite railroads.

  • Fantastic! I remember the big grey EL locos rolling through my town Binghamton NY.

The colors and logo made the trains look so industrial-cool. I miss them!

  • Love these old trains. And with cabooses

  • i come from an erie family

  • do you mean someone in your family was employed with Erie? If so, I am happy for you and somewhat envious!

  • @hartleydodge i had around 5-7 generations that worked for the erie and the el

  • Great stuff, thank God some folks have the wherewithall to film this stuff. I grew up in Paterson, N.J. near to Erie mainlines and then in PA near the stone built Starruca Viaduct.
