@ IndoorAeroGardener: Great video of growing Lettuce on the AeroGarden. Bravo. I would love to grow dark, leafy lettuce in that; because it's healthier and has more nutrients, than Iceberg Lettuce.

@ those guys who talk about growing Marijuana on the AeroGarden: Marijuana is much safer than Tobacco, Alcohol, Caffeine, Drugs(legal and illegal), and Aspirins. Prohibition is nothing but a failure; it costs taxpayer's a lotta money. Marijuana can't kill you; the others that I mention do.

I don't smoke marijuana or consume it in any form myself. I'm actually a Pre-medical graduate from Saint Joseph's College going in to Anesthesiology. On the side I like to study Herbalism and marijuana being a controversial herb receives a lot of attention. I just wanted to make you aware that just because something is illegal doesn't make it wrong or bad. When used in excess any drug is bad but marijuana actually has extremely low toxicity even when compared to prescription medication.

I wasn't talking about using this for a marijuana plant. If you do your research you'll find that THC has been shown to inhibit cancer cell growth in vitro and also promotes Neurogenesis (growth of new neurons in the brain). It has also been shown to inhibit plaque formation in the brain thereby slowing and possibly even stopping Alzheimer's disease. I don't care about abusing the drug, I care about it's therapeutic use. The studies I read are all peer reviewed primary resources.

I was just curious, but what are the significance of neurons to the brain? I'm assuming they're good, because you threw that in with a bunch of other positive marijuana facts.

Neurons are what stores information in the brain. The more neurons the more information can be stored and recalled. It is true that marijuana while being used temporarily inhibits recall because it over stimulates cannabinoid receptors in the brain (yes you have receptors specific to cannabinoids), but after use is stopped the recall and storage of information is better than before.

Hmmm, well that explains why I remember stupid shit I could care less about like specific details in history class. I was also already aware of cannibinoid receptors in the brain. Did you know that scientists have the geneology of all living things and have found that cannibinoid receptors go way back when? Basically, means that almost all organisms in the Animal Kingdom can get high off weed. Pretty interesting shit if you ask me. I'd love to get into a career dealing with cannabis...
