@supra1722 The Mk1 Exige uses a tuned version of the Rover K-Series engine Lotus originally fitted to the Elise. Toyota engines started to be used part way through Mk2 production after MG Rover went down the pan (i.e. moved to China) which also had the advantage of making the Elise a more practical proposition for the US market.

The lotus may be a biz underpowerd to the others bu it has a really good turning speed and i think too that he others were more concerned about not being hit or not hitting anything. A Ferrari or a Lambo is not a cheap car :) (nor Lotus). But great vid.

The guy is a shark in a bowl with goldfish. He/She can either to afford to bend the car, or it wasn't theirs, and they are taking advantage of the non competitive setting. @Mirron1 - Well, I think you've got part of it right: he's a pretty good driver in an extremely well-balanced car- racing at Magny Cours with other 'recreational weekend racers' - who, clearly, don't want to wreck their prized possession! You can tell the others weren't aggressive or experienced- judging by some of the lines they took around corners. Did I see 2 people in that white Catterham? Doggee!

This is not a result of better perfroming Lotus this is 100% all about the driver... put this guy in one of the Ferrari or Lambos and he would beat his Lotus time by miles.

Not that I am a great driver but all the others on that track have no real clue of the right lane to start with... if they hit the right apex of a corner it was luck not driving skills

This Exige isn´t that great tested at the Hockenheim shorttrack by a experiend test/race driver (he race the 24h at the northloop) the Exige Mk I reached a 1:14.8min... during its time in 2000 a good time... today even a TT-RS declass it driven by the same guy.... to compare he put the McLaren MP4 12C in 1:08.7min around that track and the Gallardo LP570 in 1:09.2min... track focused supercars driven properly eat the Exige alive

He's a good driver but he acts like a pillock to the Lambo driver at 2:25. Lambo driver gives him room, Lotus driver slams the door without even thinking. Lambo driver may have been entering the pits but there was no way the Lotus driver would've known. I'm taking that this is a race he's in as well, if its just a track day then he's an even bigger idiot than I thought.
