"Within the profession [historians] there's virtually no discussion or debate left of slavery as central to the antebellum south and the fundamental cause of secession and the war. To the extent within the profession there's a debate about this, people will talk about other causal factors such as economic factors creating secession and the Civil War, but those economic factors always come down to a slave economy" Dr. Eric Walther of University of Houston

The problem is that Ron Paul doesn't know the LAW.
1:26 he says "the issue of secession was acknowledged by the Founders."
Really? Where?
It's not a matter of personal acknowledgement, but NATIONAL SOVEREIGNTY.
By law, each state is a SOVEREIGN NATION-- the Union is NOT.
Therefore it is necessary to CHALLENGE the federal government's claim of national sovereignty and authority over the individual states.
But RON PAUL DOESN'T DO THIS, and so he CONCEDES the federal government's claim.
FAIL

@tommyfunebo
Actually Ron Paul is doing far worse in the South.
In South Carolina and Florida he only got 7% each.
Looks like the country's fucked.
