Because of Arny, in the last visit I had with my mother in her deep altered state, I was able to speak my love for her in terms that would have embarrassed her in her normal waking state. Unable to speak her love in words, touch was also difficult for her-- but that day I got in bed with her tiny body, our hands came together, and we held both hands and rocked-- and all was forgiven and redeemed.
