  • The Nittany and Bald Eagle Railroad in Central PA has a CF7.

  • like those costom locomotives. . i saw one of these in springfield, or. weyerhaeuser yard i think . i visited in 1996

  • @TestTubeBabySpy Cool.

  • i bet the operator is like."man what the f..k is this guy filming me for ?

  • @mikertones they know what "railfan" is.

  • @singwith yes i know ,i was just teasing u sorry, nice videos, thanks ,i enjoyed them,i like trains also, some times i just stare at the tracks,i do the same thing you do except i dont film it ,

all those trains workers with the orange vests and big sun hats seem like cool people, always waving and saying whats up to me

  • That train would look good if they cleaned the dirt off it!That is still a perfectly fine locomotive.I think it needs a new horn though.

  • @modeltrainexpert this locomotive is no longer in LAJ.

  • @smogmontser yea, some are still in use and some are not.

  • is that a former santa fe unit?

  • @13normc1 Yes, I believe Santa Fe F units.

  • @singwith all CF7's would be former Santa Fe ;)

  • 60 years old and still gowing strong

  • @TheMsautobodyman all CF7 at LAJ retired by 2010.

  • love those hoppers at 1:02

  • Nice video! Plenty of CF-7's in operation across the country. Technically, when rebuilt by ATSF, they became new locomotives. The CF-7 with the Topeka cab like this one is one of my favorite locomotives.

  • nice catch snuffy,oh btw what time does the old LAJ pass in vernon what days.

  • @GISALICIOUS This locomotive is retired.

  • @singwith when I went to Vernon I saw 3 old LAJ locomotive parked on tracks.

  • @GISALICIOUS that's for sale.

  • @singwith no.

  • see, even engines from the 50s still pwn Gensets :P

  • they use it when other locos are not available or our of fuel.

  • It's hard to kill those old CF7's, pretty sure that's why Santa Fe rebuilt them, because they saw potential for a long second-life.

  • @ke4cpc all four of LAJ's CF7s are retired now.

  • @singwith Too bad. Were they scrapped or sold whole?

  • @ke4cpc as of 8/13/10, the units are sitting in the LAJ yard. watch my video, "Los Angeles Junction Railway(LAJ) - 8/13/10" and you can find more inside info about LAJ at west coast rail forums

  • nice to know, that it was still kicking, and showing them gensets whos boss, hope it ends up @ a museum

  • Thank you so much, I run the model of the loco on my layout! Its fun to see these old CF´s at work! Thank you and a 5/5 Point for your work!

  • the nashville & eastern shortline (located in middle tennessee) has some ex-CSX, ex-ATSF, and ex-BN(im not sure about the BN units) C30-7s. btw, all are in original paint

  • I heard all CF7 at LAJ are going to retired.

  • what a waste

  • they might go to the OERM.

  • OERM???

  • Yes, Orange Empire Railway Museum.

  • yeah, they have the kodachrome GP9 and ATSF superfleet FP45

  • Built in the 50's and still going strong!

  • I heard that unit (and other CF7s) is going to retired.

  • its that CF-7 an old Santa Fe? .. Check Out My Video of Fordyce & Princeton CF-7's

  • I was told that was an old Santa Fe F-unit.

  • @singwith

     It is indeed. Nice catch!

  • Nice vid, we can almost smell the dust :) i also love the hump 1:43

  • Thanks!

  • oh, he stopped & waited until the crew lock the gate.

  • Ah the CF7... a prime example of Theseus's Paradox! :-)

  • are all the parts oringinal or have they replaced some (ex: the horn)

  • Not sure. may be someone answer your question.

  • Awsome!

  • Thanks!

  • i like how they still have that old yellow caution rotating light on top of the cab!

  • wow i've never seen that before nice horn too!

  • Yea, I agree that horn was nice.

  • indeed it was

  • Wow, I really can't tell, is that a K3 or a K5 on that unit?!

  • Not sure what name of the horn was.

  • K3LA

  • Thanks.

  • no prob!

any other horns do you want to identify?

  • How about GG20B, green goat?

  • what railroad?

  • UP. check my video called "Union Pacific Green Goat!".

  • ok

do you want me to post the answer here or PM U with the answer?

  • Wow nice catch:

BNSF OR LAJ DO NOT Kill this unit out of service it runs real good with no polution seen and some of the newer ones show pollution!!!!

  • when ever the train is operating no matter weather you see smoke it is still poluting dumbass. all the times it exlerates it pollutes. you cant allways see the smoke. or pollution.

  • nice video. I like the horn on that unit.

  • Thanks!

  • better then those F units though.

  • Comment removed

  • I know they're better, just miss those f-units is all. BTW this is an awesome catch Snuffy!

  • Thansk Glenn. You don't need to erase you comments though. anyway, hard to believe that F-units turn into Monsters!

  • No prob. lol.

  • wonder, the horn is same as those F-unit or not.

  • I doubt it. Most f-units used different horns over their lifetime. This horn must be this CF7's given horn.

  • Nice find. Thanks for posting.

  • Thanks & you are welcome.

  • Wow! Thats awesome!

  • Thanks!

  • Great catch. It's on it's 3rd life. Maybe it's having a fourth.

  • Thanks. Yea, I hope so.

  • nice!!! thanks for putting this up!
