  • Does anyone know who is singing baritone?

  • Wielki, niepowtarzalny, niezwykły. Megagwiazda sceny i osobowości. Najwspanialszy tenor drogiej połowy XX wieku. Zjawisko samo w sobie. Wcielony geniusz, który trafił we właściwy czas i miejsce. Luciano. You was incredible, marvelous and unforgettable. A real genious came from italian Heaven to all of us, poore people. You gave us happiness. One moment of glory, nobless. All we loved you and nobody forget. Never.

  • Si no es la voz justa para el personaje pero canta gloriosamente, una voz limpia bella perfecta

  • Ma come si fa a dire che Pavarotti non avesse voce per Cavaradossi? Timbro bellissimo all'italiana ed emissione perfetta.

  • MAGNIFICENT XXXXXXXXXXX

  • @Congruky Lirico-ligero tenor or no, he was magnifico, Si?

  • Lucciano inmortal.

  • he shown his singing but, never showed his paint.... hahahahahaha, RIP maestro

  • @mauriciomille I think he was painting a hamburger

    j/k, Pavarotti is the best

  • @Polytes1 or la mona lisa as well as mr. bean did

  • @Polytes1 wich one were better?.... da vinci's one or mr bean? heheeh

  • @mauriciomille actually he was great in painting too. :]

  • The baritono doesn't dare to sing while Luciano playing the final part, .... who dares anyway

  • Inmortal

  • Quelle chaleur dans sa voix!

    Luciano immortel!

  • This is a gem!!! Thanks for uploading!!! RIP, Placido. Lovely.

  • Bravoo!!!!!, he is one of my favourites Cavaradossi!!!. How brigth and beautiful his voice is, while still having a round and warm touch!!!. How do we all miss him!!!!

    Thanks for posting!!!BRAVOOO!!!!!

  • Bravo!! but Carreras, no doubt.

  • Che bella voce!!!! I will never get tire of hearing him!!!. Such a clear diction and wonderful interpretation!!! Bravo maestro!!!! Thanks for posting!!!!

  • does recondita armonia talks about a woman that he felt in love? or???... what does the aria talks?, thanks

  • @mauriciomille Pass me the colors... Concealed harmony of contrasting beauties! Floria, my ardent lover, is dark haired. And you, unknown beauty, crowned with blond hair, You have blue eyes, Tosca has black eyes! Art, in its mysterious way, blends the contrasting beauties together... But while I'm painting her, My only thought, My only thought is of you, Tosca, it is of you! This is a translation of the italian text Cavaradossi looks at his painting of lattavanti and sees similarities to tosc
  • espectacular!

  • E bravo Pavarotti !!!

  • EL MEJOR CAVARADOSI

  • Viva Pavarotti!!!!

  • Excellent.

Saludos

  • I prefer Placido.

  • To sound that good at 50 is a testament to his great technique and artistry. Jose Cura won't be singing happy birthday when he's 50.

  • Well you are right but remember that 50 is not an old age for a tenor, tenor has a fully mature voice at 40is so 50 is not old at old, Its when u should be at your best.

  • @tena2 No, 40 is when you should be at your best. But, you should still be good at 50.

  • @tdeane34 Yes, that´s what I wanted to say sorry, An opera singer is at his/her best at 40, With thr right tecnique and repertory a singer shoud also be in a good level at 50 and 50is. Thanks for your remark

  • I love this aria

  • Purtroppo il tenore è morto, ma la sua voce resta immortale.

  • Luciano Pavarotti una voz inmortal

    besos

    JEM WONG

  • "tu azzuro"--is really good

i like the way he covers/colors the "nel"

    he always did that--on F. aida,la fleur,etc.

he keeps it spinning that's for sure. and it sounds urgent, not casual.

and the high notes have stringere and are compelling, right?

  • Il avait une voix unique !

Je l'ai vu à Genève dans "Le bal Masqué"

Ce fut un vrai triomphe !

    Merci

  • Hope nobody offend with this, but i never like Pavarotti as an actor. I really enjoy his concert, but almost never enjoy his productions. Even in right roles for his voice. A lot of time he stop and sing for the audience leaving his role as an actor. Or dont move as his character need for context, lyric, etc. Pavarotti sing Vesti La Guibba extremely good. Domingo too. But Domingo as Canio really touch me, Pavarotti didnt :S

  • What are you talking about? Luciano act amazing in his role as Canio in Pagliaccio, at least that from 1994. and the big part of his acting was in his face expression and in his emotional voice. because of that Luciano much touching me than Domingo, never mind how much good he acted.

  • @loveluciano1 Canio and Caravadossi aren't rols for Pavarotti, he was a lirico-ligero tenor non a dramatic tenor

  • @Congruky Luciano is amazing in any case, really but really!!!

  • @loveluciano1 Corelli was bocelli's teacher isnt?

  • @loveluciano1 Corelli was bocelli's teacher isnt?

  • @loveluciano1 so glad to see someone else understands the wonderful subtlety in Lucianos acting... its beautiful

  • @loveluciano1 anyways nobody like Caruso in both arias!!!

  • When Pavarotti sings Vestli la guibba I usualy cry espesialy in 1979 (Met, I think) production.

When Domingo sing Vesti la guibba he is more of a pretentious actor than a singer.

  • I agree with SebasGreco, Pavarotti were not really a good actor, but his voice was marvellous

  • 2:09 is spun in a way that only Pav could do. Such a spin to the voice! Excellent squillo! There's a reason we call him "the Maestro". Domingo's voice is naturally bigger, but it's lower and doesn't have the spin to it. He is more interesting on stage however. In general I prefer Pavarotti because I'm not fond of the technique Domingo uses (mostly because he's a baritone).

  • "In general I prefer Pavarotti because I'm not fond of the technique Domingo uses (mostly because he's a baritone)."

haha, such a nasty blow, and funny. Domingo was not a lyric tenor like Pavarotti, which is what made him perfect for the role. Pavarotti was a great Rodolfo or Duke.

  • 2:09 is incredible, the best of the best...

  • Wonderful big Luciano! But for me much better Cavaradossi is Domingo... Pavarotti was much better wen song "Nessun dorma"...

  • Resucita!!!

  • BRAVO!

  • check these

    Giancarlo Monsalve recondita armonia

    GREAT!!!!

  • as far as I remember He was talking about Josep Carreras then..but I can be wrong

  • No, he was talking about Plácido. One of his last interviews.

    Regards,

  • OMGGGG!!!! please dont be ignorant, better cavaradossi??? OMg, please look E lucevan le stelle and tell me.... domingo does not even have the notes bro

  • I am not ignorant, I´ve been in the best theatres in the world, saw the greatest singers, & I do know singers, doctors, conductors, agents and people from theatre. I study the voice in many aspects.

Please, be respectfull when you comment. It is really funny for someone who knows how this works to see that poeple diminishes the talent of 2 consagrated artists.

for me, for prasing, colour of the voice, for intención, for sheer beaty of the voice, I prefer domingo on this role.

  • I appreciate your comment, I really do, It is nice to listen to the greatest singers in the greatest theatres. However, Domingo´s voice is way to dark and heave, and Pavarotti´s is too lyrical. I consider for example Corelli ( a spinto tenor) more adequate for the role of Maria. I need to point out that Pavarotti did great Tosca´s throughout his career. Regards

  • @tena2 Corelli is the best Cavaradossi!!!!

  • You are entitled to your opinion. Corelli was too Prima Donna and always upstaged his Soprano counterpart. He in his mind was deserving to be the best and almost was arrested because his EGO would not allow a New Soprano whom performed in her hometown to take a SOLO bow. His biography also stated he had pieces of sponges on Soprano's Sleeves & Curtain to insure he had adequate water supply, further walked off stage.. E G O. I am sure you made an error hisCharacter name is MARIO.

  • Pavarotti was a much better Cavaradossi, compare this with Domingo's performance at the Met a year earlier and you'll see why. Domingo shouts the high notes, Pavarotti doesn't.

  • My mistake, it was the same year as this one, there is a clear winner between the two.

  • He was 50. This is in 1985. His dob is 1935.

  • "THE GREAT ONE"

I'm curious does any one know his age in this performance?

  • 51 years old. If I am not wrong.....

  • he was bor in 1935 so 50 years later will be 1985 which when this was recorded.

  • thank you

  • Awesome I like how he held the high note longer, great job, RIP Maestro

  • He hold the high note like Great Pippo did it.

  • Placido Domingo is a better Cavaradossi??

You really know Opera very well.

I think you should start to listen HipHop you'll be great at it!!!

  • b eazy on these idiots that know nothing about opera. alot of so called fans claim to know aout opera tenors but they usually have no idea!! keep up the good work!!!

  • brilliant : wondeful voice, ghreat interpretation !

    rip maestro

  • Brilliant!!!!

  • THIS ARIA ALWAYS REMINDS ME OF MY DAYGHTERS,(BRUNI E BIONDE) THEIR HAIR COLORING. Notice he holds the long high note started prior to 'Sacrastan' saints & sinners and after. He said that this aria in beginning of Tosca, as Una Furtiva Lacrima of L'elisir D amore knew how well his performance was/ BRAVO LUCIANO .

  • Maestro!

  • Just magnificent as always. He brought so much beauty to this world. His voice and endearing personality will be with us forever. May his soul rest in peace.

  • Sublime

  • BRAVO MAESTRO!! R.I.P.

  • amaizing! Thak you for exotic video. thank you :)

    luciano 50 years.

  • What a fantastic performance! Maestro, you will live forever deep into our souls through your unique voice.
