What a great movie, had it all "action, comedy, drama, a solid story line AND it was really well made. Saw movie on fillmsi.co.cc.... I was waiting for the vault scene, just so i could laugh a bit, but they pulled it off really well!

I remember seeing a TV spot for this once and a few years later I saw The mummy returns, and I had no idea they were sequels. The CGI is horrible but yet awesome.

They should have NEVER gotten rid of Rachel Weisz. They make it seem like Rick and Evyln got a divorce, and then this girl stepped in. Just wasn't and never will be the same without Rachel :( And its too bad the kid who played Alex in the Mummy 2 wasn't old enough to take this role. If only he was a little older. Mummy 1 and 2 are so much better than this junk. Thank god they kept Jonathan!

There were actually ancient Chinese "mummies" preserved in tanks of preservative fluid ( Google "Mawangdui mummy" ). Reanimate that bloated corpse and you have a brilliant concept for a The Mummy movie.

Towards the beginning of the film I had my doubts due to it's semi-lagging pace, but once it sped-up and ended, I realized I just saw one of the best films of the year, thus far. Not having Rachel Weiz is like if The Godfather 3 being made and ended up without Pacino (at least it did), just not the same, add in the fact that the 3rd movie of each series were WAY below the other two.

just because it says the actors are signed on for three movies, doesn't mean they will hurriedly rush to make all three movies. That's how they turn out to be bad. But unless the franchise is still good, then they will make them, but you have to have a director and writers willing to help out.
ok just the fact that in the 3rd mummy the girl at 0:17 didnt show up it ruined 35% of the movie and then the dude at 0:13 wasent on the movie either what the hell that ruined like 15% of it and then alex turned into an "A HOLE" and fell in ♥ with a chinese gurl whats up with that(even though she is pretty)

Rob Cohen sucks an has ruined the Mummy. Never seen any insults to China, but then who cares, china sucks more than this movie. Bad shit film even my son was bored.
Saw this movie, it was a huge let down. i'm a big fan of the mummy movies, this third one was, well, crap. Poor plot, like ancient Chinese people speaking English, no Rachel Weives (this movie should NOT have been made without her, and i don't blame her for turning down such a poor script,movie was a career destroyer) I couldn't stop cringing due to horrible dialog. And the yettis, BAD idea, and insanely overused. they get saved by the yettis like 5 times in one movie. They've ruined the series!
I read on wikipedia that they very well may shoot the next mummy in peru, and its title is the mummy :rise of the Aztec.But i wouldn't take everything that wiki say's seriously because in the past they have gave the wrong info. So don't come at me with negative comments, it's just something i read.But as for the title they did say it may change but for now there rolling with the following title.
The only thing i didn't like about the movie was the different wife....that fucked everything up. they could have at least divorced them and then put the new women...but just don't change the characters. but the movie itself was ok

It really sucked and this movie scared the shit out of me.. if you watch critical & close with an unusual paranoia view you will find some very very very disturbing, though CONCRETE messages that the US could be sending to China. Fucks me up to learn that Bush went to the Premier of this movie with the leader of China!! That makes you wonder what kind of political agenda Rob Cohen (director) is on.. did anyone notice the insults/message towards China?
I think that's why they made this one in China, cos they wasn't sure on whether to continue with the whole Imhotep thing. Stephen Sommers says [in the dvd boxset of the two films] that if the third one had been made in Egypt, along with another storyline with Imhotep and Anck Su Namun, the public will be complaining about that then. And to be honest, the guy does have a point. Although, the two first films are way better because I just LOVE Egypt (: lol.
I personally enjoyed the new adventure, the only thing that just spoiled it for me was that Rachel Weisz wasn't in it. I think it would've been so much better if she had been in it. I absolutely hate it when someone else takes over someone's role, it just isn't the same. There was no 'i'd die for you' or the electric chemistry between Rick and Evie which Brendan and Rachel cleverly done... I just hated watching Brendan and Maria on screen together. :( just wasn't the same.
maria bello's performance as Evelyn was just wrong. Especially at the scene where she's like; 'oooh, remember when you saved me from the mummy, called Imhotep..' and she's trying to be all so seductive.
Rachel would've done it better. Rachel would've done it with style. Rachel rules!

if you've read any interviews, especially with Brendan and Rachel, they have always said that they are not horror films- they are fantasy, as it's about having fun. they're fun movies. they're not meant to scare people. its fun, adventurious, good humour and not meant to be taken seriously.

The chinese cast was awesome. It should have been a stand alone epic. Including the mummy cast was what ruined this story cause they had so much screen time that we didn't get to follow Jet Li which was a shame cause he did a great job as the emperor. Weisz would have added some naivety to Evei which was misssing. Ric, Evie and Alex were egotistic, no chemistry and quite frankly boring to watch apart from that the story was great.
I'd say this lacked in Story but made up for it in Comedy, this had me literally falling over laughing. Decent action but not as fantastic as the previous movies. I HATED Alex because in the Mummy Returns he was a nice little kid who loved his parents and in this he's a selfish teen that HATES his parents and is a complete asshole!

There are no bad points for me for this one. One of the newest movie I have seen at kookíca yesterday, and I heartly recommend it. I could watch it over and over again and still be happy every time after watching. Find it at kookíca. It is free.

Not having Rachel Weiz is like if The Godfather 3 being made and ended up without Pacino (at least it did), just not the same, add in the fact that the 3rd movie of each series were WAY below the other two.

absolutely loved the first 2 mummy movies. i wish rachel weisz reprised her role for this one and the future ones. it jus isnt the same without her. still love brendan fraiser tho lol. hopefully "rise of the aztec" will b good.

just because it says the actors are signed on for three movies, doesn't mean they will hurriedly rush to make all three movies. That's how they turn out to be bad. But unless the franchise is still good, then they will make them, but you have to have a director and writers willing to help out.

Saw this movie, it was a huge let down. i'm a big fan of the mummy movies, this third one was, well, crap. Poor plot, like ancient Chinese people speaking English, no Rachel Weives (this movie should NOT have been made without her, and i don't blame her for turning down such a poor script,movie was a career destroyer) I couldn't stop cringing due to horrible dialog. And the yettis, BAD idea, and insanely overused. they get saved by the yettis like 5 times in one movie. They've ruined the series!

I read on wikipedia that they very well may shoot the next mummy in peru, and its title is the mummy :rise of the Aztec.But i wouldn't take everything that wiki say's seriously because in the past they have gave the wrong info. So don't come at me with negative comments, it's just something i read.But as for the title they did say it may change but for now there rolling with the following title.

Propagandic as fucking hell! It really sucked and this movie scared the shit out of me.. if you watch critical & close with an unusual paranoia view you will find some very very very disturbing, though CONCRETE messages that the US could be sending to China. Fucks me up to learn that Bush went to the Premier of this movie with the leader of China!! That makes you wonder what kind of political agenda Rob Cohen (director) is on.. did anyone notice the insults/message towards China?

I think that's why they made this one in China, cos they wasn't sure on whether to continue with the whole Imhotep thing. Stephen Sommers says [in the dvd boxset of the two films] that if the third one had been made in Egypt, along with another storyline with Imhotep and Anck Su Namun, the public will be complaining about that then. And to be honest, the guy does have a point. Although, the two first films are way better because I just LOVE Egypt (: lol.

I personally enjoyed the new adventure, the only thing that just spoiled it for me was that Rachel Weisz wasn't in it. I think it would've been so much better if she had been in it. I absolutely hate it when someone else takes over someone's role, it just isn't the same. There was no 'i'd die for you' or the electric chemistry between Rick and Evie which Brendan and Rachel cleverly done... I just hated watching Brendan and Maria on screen together. :( just wasn't the same.

maria bello's performance as Evelyn was just wrong. Especially at the scene where she's like; 'oooh, remember when you saved me from the mummy, called Imhotep..' and she's trying to be all so seductive.
Rachel would've done it better. Rachel would've done it with style. Rachel rules!

actually, it's not horror- it's fantasy.
if you've read any interviews, especially with Brendan and Rachel, they have always said that they are not horror films- they are fantasy, as it's about having fun. they're fun movies. they're not meant to scare people. its fun, adventurious, good humour and not meant to be taken seriously.

The chinese cast was awesome. It should have been a stand alone epic. Including the mummy cast was what ruined this story cause they had so much screen time that we didn't get to follow Jet Li which was a shame cause he did a great job as the emperor. Weisz would have added some naivety to Evei which was misssing. Ric, Evie and Alex were egotistic, no chemistry and quite frankly boring to watch apart from that the story was great.

I'd say this lacked in Story but made up for it in Comedy, this had me literally falling over laughing. Decent action but not as fantastic as the previous movies. I HATED Alex because in the Mummy Returns he was a nice little kid who loved his parents and in this he's a selfish teen that HATES his parents and is a complete asshole!
All in all, a great movie! Go and see it!
