  • You can say what you want about the founding fathers, but you can't deny the fact that they were tenacious risk-takers with balls of steel. You have to consider the context -the world they lived in. It was a nasty place, and they put there necks on the chopping block to create a nation that was a little bit better.   • How can a country be founded on a religion, anyway? The closest thing to a country being "founded" on a religion is enforcing that religion's laws, which would make that country a theocracy, and no theocracy (christian, muslim, jewish, etc) has ever worked.

After the death of his first love, he started to have doubts, and he saw his own life as a failure. He later went back to Kentucky to visit his hometown. And while he was there he was Lucy Gilman taught him parts of the new testament and Lincoln's depression weakened and his doubts disappeared. After that he did follow the bible, I can't say weather or not he was Christian, but

And yea Lincon was a really REALLY troubled guy who went through multiple bouts of depression, and it is possibal that his "faith" may have risen and fallen multiple times through his life (as it does for nearly everyone).
