What fans have to realize is that it is called RESIDENT EVIL, not RESIDENT ZOMBIE. And in Japan, its known as Biohazard. Eitherway, Resident Evil isn't necessarily about fighting zombies. It occurs in many of the games, but I don't think that zombies are the main focus of enemies in these games, nor where they ever intended to be.

The main focus is a bioweapon being tested on unsuspecting people. It's fighting monsters who consider humans to be possible guinea pigs for their mad experiments.

The Resident Evil series gradually moved away from what made it great. This pretty much DEFINED survival horror. In fact, it defines it so well that I can't even describe it; people who grew up playing this know exactly what I'm talking about, and that's what everyone wants to see a return to. Not some cheap thriller where you hunt treasure with a scantily clad whore.

some of you people need to calm the hell down lol. Who gives a damn if RE4 didn't have 'true' zombies, the game was amazing and def had it's scary moments. Don't get me wrong, i LOOOOVE RE1-3(Esp. 2 and 3) but I didn't feel a dumbass feeling of betrayal with Capcom when they moved the game to Spain, it's a damn video game guys lol. Seriously, it's about as ridiculous as complaining that Wolverine didn't have his yellow jumpsuit in the X-Men movies. 5 is the REAL death to the series imo lol.

What's funny is that even though you never counter an enemy in the library, the place still gives you the creeps. I still jump every time I crash through the floor to get to the bookshelf puzzle. Not to mention, the next time you come into the library zombies will start pouring through the windows in some of the hallways or the cord will short out and let the zombies through, depending on the scenario....

It is just as Spencer said: "All was lost with Raccoon City". For me, Resident Evil ended with Raccoon City. The Resident Evil 3 ending is the official ending to the series for me and regardless of what they try to do with the story, it ends there. I only consider Resident Evil 0, 1(PSX), 1(GC remake), 2, and 3 to be canon.

I think Resident Evil 2 has my personal favorite soundtrack of any of the other RE's. RE1 was probably the scariest (especially REmake...god damn Crimson Heads) and in RE3 I never walked out of fear I'd run into Nemisis. RE0 is my personal favorite RE game. Code:Veronica was kind of the 'middle ground' for me, and Survivor....well we don't talk about those ;P And then we reach RE 4 & 5...............
