  • wow when i was listening to this song yesterday it only had 412 views...what the hell im not even kidding

  • there needs to be a lyrical version

  • I love this one

  • no art can compare

  • There is an old question as to whether you are a "Beatles" person or a "Rolling Stones" person... No contest. 'Stones! These guys made great music all the way into the '80s. Yeah, the Beatles were great, but the Rolling Stones are freakin' TIMELESS! They may be the best rock band of all time. Anyone gonna outlast them? I doubt it...

  • 'Shadoobie'.......

  • 9 people are girls that never dreamed of having sex, sex, sex, SEX...with Mick Jagger.

  • Keith Richards makes me feel good about being intoxicated, in some way, most of the time.

  • Any FUCKHEAD that dislikes the Stones needs to move to....well...to another planet....in another galaxy....where evryone eats glass and mumbles.

  • The last great song from the Stones. Very punky and fits the era nicely.

  • I can't give it away on 7th avenue

  • tattered, shattered, scattered

  • At one time or another, we've all been shattered. Another outstanding Stones song...

  • go ahead bite the big apple... don't mind the maggots!

  • and sex and sex and sex and SEX!!!

  • i like when robert de niro in the fan is singing this at the top of his lungs when he kidnaps wesley snipes son...it's hilarious.

  • Robert Deniro keeps yelling at me in the car right now......

  • I always think of this as an early form of rapping, something about the lyrics, really cool song though, really cool :)))

  • i love manhattan and i love this even tho.

  • Very Velvet Underground!

  • sha-doo-bee ♫♥r

  • i was shattered... but now i dont chase..... i replace misty

  • cool

    smooth

    ready

  • nyc what a pit shithole i mean

  • shattered! does it matter??

  • i used to be shattered, then i took an arrow to the knee

  • @Tatertot300spartans really? lol

  • @Tatertot300spartans leave your stupid internet/video game memes away from the stones.

  • @superfoxfan it was bound to happen anyway lmao

  • does it matter....well the stones have so many millions its easy to disss money and success...when you live in a manor with a river and a gentlemans gentleman to polish your beatle boots/

  • Eight people were rocling so hard they hit "dislike" by mistake.

  • My brains be blattered, splattered all over Manhattan

  • I love it! It's like Mick and the boys were channeling all the grit of the 70s New York punk scene on this track.

  • Rats on the west side, Bed bugs uptown.

  • all Stones music sounds brilliant when your stoned..lol

  • Don't you know the crime rate's going up, up, up! Look at MEEEE I'm in tatters! I've always dug joint, came out my junior year of high school still rocks today!

  • This song came on the radio recently when I was stoned and it sounded brilliant. Now that I'm not stoned, it just sounds hilarious. But I love it either way.

  • Great band. I love this song!

  • Rats on the westside, bedbugs uptown ... OMG! He's describing Chicago!

  • They're pretty old now. In fact that's how they got their name. From banging on rocks with sticks in the Paleozoic era.

  • not hating the stones by any means, I really like em, but its songs like this that i just dont get. I mean its ok, but at the same time its awkward to listen to.

  • CLASSIC... just better with age,baby....

  • drugs are good

  • This song was the Rolling Stones`s offing for the "Punk Rock/New Wave" trend of the late `70s. It was considerably better than most of the crap that constituted that genre; but it shouldn`t be overlooked that it (appearantly) was intended to cater to that market.

  • @charliebe28 -- Many fans didn't like the Stones going psychedelic on the Satanic Majesties album. I find everything they do great!

  • Rolling Stones you ARE my favorite band.

  • Charlie Watt's drumming is steady as a computer!! The background rhythm guitar is awesome. Greatest two-chord song ever!

  • the answer to eternal life? pretty sure it's the stones! ...success, success, success...does it matter? hell, yeah, y'all aren't starving artists! thank goodness. ;)

  • Nobody but the Stones could do a song this fucking cool!!!!!

  • Why this song isn't William Shatner's theme song, I will never know. Shatner - sha doobie shatner....

  • @drb580...Peasants will never appreciate this comment. :D

  • I love that they were big when they were. They would never make it today, Mick and Kieth are too ugly to have made it in this day and age. Good thing they were from the days when music was about talent

  • @wfbgenius yeah right. uglyness has nothing to do with the stones they have always been ugly. lets see who kicks ass for there 50th tour.

  • To me, they wrote a studio greatest hits album with this one. Not a song on here that isn't great. Love it all!

  • This is before black faggots overtook music and tried to equate gibberish over other peoples record with talent.

  • this basically sums up ny into 70's

  • the only place for future strip clubs

    drug stores

    cocktail parlors

    and just plan naughtyness

  • LOVE IT.......Shadoobee...Shattered Shattered Don't mind the maggots. Great post. ( :

  • @kneapoe51 - How about "People dressed in plastic bags - some kind of fashion"

  • @JamesTKirkCobain Your site tells me all I need to know. Go ahead & BITE the big apple.....maggot. Shadoobee.....Shattered Shattered. : )

  • One of the best songs about New York City ever!

  • @JohnGrant2011 About NYC? Not at all! "Rats on the west side, bed bugs uptown" describes Chicago!

  • @WytZox1 The song makes references to "The Big Apple" & Manhattan. Definitely one of the great all time songs about NYC.

  • @JohnGrant2011 You're right! "7th Avenue" & "Big Apple" are definitely NYC references but that "Rats on the west side, bedbugs uptown" sure could be a description of 2 of Chicago's less prestigious neighborhoods.

  • pride n hope n sex n dreams....still survivin' on the street...tattered!

    Truely, icons of our era.

  • They need to produce a new album.

  • daily bop? try aerobics to this shits?? lol

  • They're just too good for words. They are the greatest band in the world.

  • @Yellow4494 not the greatest, but one of them :)

  • @CMloveify Well, to me they're the greatest. I respect other bands too like The Beatles but Stones are #1 for me.

  • @Yellow4494 Totally understood.

  • I fucking love the solo! God damnit!

  • @rampaginwalrus god's last name isn't damn it :)

  • @rainspirit100; His first name isn't god, it's Yahweh.

  • @rainspirit100 how quaint

  • Heard this song this morning in the car and started dancing in the back seat. My mom freaked out and asked me why I can't listen to the same music modern kids do....

  • I just realized how amazing it is that I may get to see this band before they're done.... Wow.

  • @cbcroq: I aint smiled in what seems like years-yeah, shattered, but your message after so much ******* philosophy cracked me up. Thank you. To the smoker, @BHDread, amen.....

  • look at mayyyyyyyy ah ha

  • Iggy did it better.

  • @roberine Um no. Anyone who tries to cover a Stones song is not gonna be better. At all.

  • @Yellow4494 I was referring to the fact that the Stones were doing punk, and that Iggy Pop was better at it.

  • Do I dance randomly through my house to this song? Why yes, yes I do :D

  • @cbcrog best way to do housework

  • @cbcrog . . . perhaps a little gavotte?

  • @SteelHorseRiders Thats funny, because yes, actually

  • Oh, is that who it was, thx. But all examination is subjective. Context can help objectivity's standards take hold. Music is at least listened to, where movies & TV is passively droolingly glazedly let to pour into U. Read "Four Arguments for the Elimination of Television" by Jerry Mander. A phenomenal read, & ever relevant, as old as the book is. News remains news, festers until its heard & heeded. Of course, music can b detrimental, but can b healing too. evrthin like a double-edged sword

  • @reforest4fertility yall all crazy...just listen and smoke....yall too philisophical for your own good...just smoke...everything is influential to an undefined mind...now pass it..

  • Weird Al brought me here

  • ...go ahead, bite the big apple...don't mind the maggots...funny shit

  • Robert De Niro riding Wesley Snipe's hummer brought me here.

  • @namesuser1590 Grooving to this in highschool when it came out is what brought me here. I don't watch movies. Life is movie enough, without Hollywood brainwash mindmelt crap inundating my senses senseless. We make far too much of a spectacle out of everything in this so called "society", anti-social as it is, to indulge further without losing our better sense, our grounding in reality. And if you did lose it, how would you know whether u did or u didn't. Hence, a life unexamined not worth living

  • @reforest4fertility Like the socrates quote. However in my opinion, music can be just as brainwashing/mindmelting as films. Examining your life subjectively is no better than to not examine it at all.

  • SHA-DOO-BE

  • Best rap song ever!

  • New York was just the way they describe it here when this song came out. a lot of people don't realize that this is a timepiece.

  • I've ben shattered!

and sex and sex and sex AND SEX!!!!

  • saying that you specifically think a song sucks is an opinion where as, saying a song sucks means that everyone should think it sucks.

  • I remember hearing this song about 2 or 3 days after 911 when people were still crying. I recall a DJ on the radio that day (911) saying they had announced that some songs were to be banned from the radio for obvious reasons, mostly songs about fire...he was pissed off and went on a rant about censoring. (Some of them WERE silly)

The next day on another station they played "Shattered " I was amazed that it got through lyrics like "My brains are battered, splattered all over Manhattan "

  • Is he shattered ?

  • DOES IT MATTER?

  • @tdoktor...first of all...the nature of an opinion is that it's neither right or wrong-that's what differentiates it from fact & second? it ain't even my opinion. I just defended the right to voice one. Finally to kcole939...you've got almost a quarter of million views. So some people don't like Shattered. Music critics exist! Embrace debate or disable the comments :) I can't stomach Mick Jagger's idea of dancing..or his rendition of Dancing in the Street..is almost as bad as his dance moves.

  • i was at a carolina hurricanes (hockey)game last night and a dude ran into the glass on the side and it shattered into pieces and they played this song i was like OH YEAH it ruled

  • dont go on a video and say u dont like it...then u just get everyone who likes this good music mad

  • just 1 thing "SEX AND SEX AND SEX AND SEX"

  • I love this song! It's so wacky and awesome!
